Happy to see one at my LCBO today. I bought one and cracked it open before dinner.
I have a cold, so i couldn't get any of the smell and I may have lost some of the subtle flavours.
Its a really pretty beer. Nice ruby red colour.
For a sour, its not overbearing. A nice entry sour with enough subtle sweetness that it would serve well as an entry level sour for beginners.
I found that it had a balsamic vinegar taste to it, which I personally liked. Definitely some oak character to it.
I went back to the LCBO on our way home and grabbed another 2 bottles. Worth drinking again, even at its $14 price point |

| I've found it to be an easy drinking, accessible version of the style while still having enough going on to keep me interested. With how few sour beers we get here, I've already grabbed a few again this year. |

Can use a saline rinse. It gets rid of sinus congestion. The cold will go away faster too. Plus you can smell things!
People often use a Neti pot, or an irrigator of some kind. You can even use cheap sea salt with it (1 tsp to a liter.) _________________ In Beerum Veritas "... Misuse of Literally Makes Me Figuratively Insane..." |

It's a very decent beer, but it doesn't wow me at that price point. I'll buy some because we not exactly drowing in Flanders Red here, but it's pretty pedestrian compared to something like Rodenbach or La Folie. _________________ www.torontobeerweek.com

Could be worse, you could be a doctor - my family physician is amazingly under-informed!
Get well soon, I'm fighting a Staph infection that's lingered on a bit too long for comfort. Thank God I can Google to get proper information. _________________ In Beerum Veritas "... Misuse of Literally Makes Me Figuratively Insane..." |

The panil is good, but I don't remember last year's being this light on the carbonation...
FWIW, it's helpful to drink it out of a more narrow glass than a wide one.
Maybe they need a bit more conditioning time? _________________ "What can you say about Pabst Blue Ribbon that Dennis Hopper hasn’t screamed in the middle of an ether binge?" - Jordan St. John |

This beer is deservedly the one you would have if you had pick one from Panil. Their other beers are also quite good. I visited the brewery when I was in Italy and drinking the sour with a slice of homemade pizza is probably my ¨greatest beer memory¨ if I had to choose.
Sucks that the price point is so high, but whatchugonnado? Wincing inside at opening a 14 dollar beer probably has an affect on your taste buds, no? |

you're basically drinking a bottle of wine.
its not like a regular brew that can be brewed, bottled and on shelves within a month. so yeah, its not cheap, but its a justifiable treat.
or at least, that's what i tell myself. |

Bought two last year, haven't drank the second one yet - I should try it and see if age has given it anything special. It was a technically very good, if somewhat pedestrian sour last summer. _________________ "Everything ... is happening" - Bob Cole |
