2011 OCB Pan-Ontario Collaboration Ale (tap) | What was the general style of that one? Any idea what was blended to create it? I picked up a bottle from the brewery the other day and they had no clue in the retail store... |
the 2011 was an american strong ale, the only beer i know for sure was in it was Grand River Jubilation
i have no idea whats in the 2012
where did you get a bottle of the 2011? | I got my bottle at Great Lakes. Sorry, I realize now how confusing my post was. It is a 2012 bottle. |
i have no idea what went into the 2012 version, sorry |
Wellington Imperial Stout
Beau's IP Eh
Flying Monkey's Netherworld
GLB 25th Anniversary Porter
Grand River's Curmudgeon IPA
All aged in Whiskey barrels - it's pretty yummy! Lots of whiskey and oak, though! _________________ "What can you say about Pabst Blue Ribbon that Dennis Hopper hasn’t screamed in the middle of an ether binge?" - Jordan St. John |

The Oaking is pretty strong but I like it. Grabbed a couple bottles without trying and after having it at The Only last night wish I'd grabbed a couple more _________________ "Everything ... is happening" - Bob Cole |

The Saison crave must not be denied.
I'm enjoying the Birrifico Saison from Italy very much, it has some added lemony character, it is really nicely made.
For a mere 2.55 a can, grabbed some Red Racer which is a nice one to be able to burn through multiples of. And the Stone IPA I got weeks back is still aces. Stone wins, usually. _________________ In Beerum Veritas "... Misuse of Literally Makes Me Figuratively Insane..." |

Gouden Carolus Van de Keizer Blauw from 2006. Super sweet. Took a couple of sips to get into. Still have vintages 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011. I missed 2009 for the epic vertical tasing.
Westmalle Dubbel and Tripel from 2008. I saved a bottle of every trappist from 2008, save for Westy's, and brought all of them out at various times this year. Chimay's were barely worth drinking. Rochefort's were pretty bland as well. Achel's and Konigshoeven's aged pretty decently, but both the Westmalle's and Orval were massive winners that aged like champs. |

At the first EBGA Cask Day yesterday:
Amber's Brewing Ginger Lemon Grass Ale
Jasper Brewing Wabasso WIPA
Phillips Amnesiac DIPA
Yukon Brewing Mr Monks Espresso Stout (with added fireweed honey & lactose sugar)
Alley Kat Yellow Dragon DIPA
Big hit of the day was the beer from Jasper. Just a great, full flavoured WIPA. This was the first cask to sell out in roughly 2 1/2 hours, quickly followed by the Phillips and then Yukon.
A really great first cask event in Edmonton, and here's to many, many more!! _________________ Beer! |

BBQ'ing some chicken and enjoying a Pliny The Elder (my first Russian River). It is an incredible beer, but I think these days, it is right up there with brews like 10BY, FFF Arctic Panzer Wolf, Hopslam, or Green Flash IIPA. _________________ Malam cerevisiam facieus in cathedram stercoris
