| viggo and i started with a pitcher of grand river mild, then went on to a growler of goose island aviator doppelbock, and now it's a ballast point sculpin' ipa. it's been a damn good beer weekend after spending saturday at biegaman's 2nd annual summer saison tasting. |

I have to ask - how was the Goudenband? |
Lovely. It was almost Port like in it's flavour. There was a high vinegar aroma to it but that never came through in the taste or finish. It was just like drinking a fine port with a hint of sourness. I'm not a big drinker of Belgium beers but this was good.

Haha, kidding, I just wish I could have some  . How many years of lobbying would it take to get a Stone product through the LCBO system? (that's more of a rhetorical question than anything else).
All I have to drink at the moment is Niagra Falls Millstone Premium Lager, which is by no means bad, in fact it's quite good, it's just that, I like variety. |

Oh by the way, that 88 Goudenband BETTER have been good. A lot of good things came out of 1988, like me for instance! But all self flattery aside, it always blows my mind when I read about someone drinking a vintage from when I was born, or around then. To think that beer is actually is old as I am, it just seems, bizarre. It would be so surreal for me to drink a 1988 vintage  . |

I'm a little surprised that it didn't get too vinegary. That's pretty awesome. Now, where do I go to buy 20 year old beer? |

You're lucky you can get beers the same age as you are. I dread to think what a beer from 1970 would taste like I guess if it was Grotney's Red Barrel then we wouldn't know the difference
