Hey Jesse,
The tax is included in the price tag. Keep in mind the 10 cent deposit on the bottles though. _________________ Leafs fans are a special type of sports fan. And by special, I mean pretty gay! |

True. Speaking of bottles, but more specifically labels, how pissed off do you think the higher-ups were at the LCBO that they couldn't mess around with and bastardize the labels of the Trappist products? Like they did with the Jenlain? Holy crap, for a minute I thought they'd replaced the French beer with some sort of bizarre Fruit Punch cooler . And they jazzed-up the St. Louis Gueze beyond the point of recognition. |

The LCBO did not absorb the GST reduction. Every supplier or agent had the option of leaving things as they were, which resulted in price reductions, or adjusting their price so that they could absorb the additional profit. The LCBO did not benefit in any way, shape or form. Let's not slam them when they did nothing wrong.
The official release date for the Spring promo is Mar. 5th so anything in the stores now is "early" and nothing is late at this point. Prices still need to be adjusted so some of you are getting a lower price based upon the last retail price in the system for that product. All of ours are higher. |

| I was just looking over my recite, and the prices in the computer system are higher than what my LCBO had labeled them on the shelf. The 3.10 was on the shelf, but in the computer it's more like this: $3.95 for Westmalle, $3.45 for Orval, and $2.45 for Jenlain. |

Picked up a couple trappists, a doppelbock and the trafalgar and st. louis. Senators are playing what's shaping up to be a humdinger against Pittsburgh. Should be a good afternoon. |

| You're right Gedge, the Oak-Aged Rye isn't half-bad. Pretty well balanced and some decent hop bitterness bringing up the back. It reminds me so much of another beer and I just can't think of what it is... |

| So I travel all the way to the Wilson and Dufferin LCBO in North York hoping to grab a few bottles of each of the new releases. When I come home though, much to my dismay, I find that I'm missing the Orval, the one beer that I was really hoping to try. Argh, how could I be so careless and forget to buy the Orval?! |

Haha, it's ok. It's already arrived in Mississauga and I'll be picking up a few Orval tonight. |

Had the weltenburger yesterday, and found it to be a bit of a malt bomb. Nice chocolate, caramel and dark fruit flavours. Maybe a little to malty for me, as I tend to prefer something akin to an IPA, but a good beer nonetheless.
So...which of the beers in this release will age well? I'm thinking of picking up half a dozen and forgetting about them for a few years. I figure the two Trappists are the best bet? |

throw a couple of the westmalle into the cellar and the st louis lambic and the jenlain into the garbage.
acesulfame potassium in beer?
really disappointed with the jenlain. france and beer dont seem to mix in my limited lc imported experience. boris, atlantic au pineau, kronenbourg, et al. |

| Actually, quite a few Belgian producers of lambics and other fruit beers are now using acesulfame potassium as a lower cost sweetener than sugar...progress! |
