We hope that these dinners continue and are supported by the people on this forum. Our agency would like to continue with similar events and make them available outside Toronto as well.

99% of the people here likely appreciate and support these kinds of events whether they plan to (or can afford to) attend or not. There will always be dissenters who suspect something sinister. You can't please everyone. At the end of the day I think it's great and those that don't have the right to say so and not attend. To each their own. _________________ I don't always piss in a bottle but when I do...I prefer to call it Dos Equis. |

Anybody who implies a one-off event like this can make big money must not be thinking it through.
Have you guys gone by the 'Stro on a typical week-night lately? Often it's so busy you can't get near the bar! (Not complaining BB'ers I'm happy you folks are doing well.)
I doubt Brian and Stephen NEED to mess around reserving the entire high-rent space and staff for basically one very long seating!! They aren't fussing with a special one-night menu so they can make billions and take over the world. Doing all that stuff can only be justified as a labour of love- so if you don't 'get it' that's fine, there are plenty of other places to go out & enjoy, no bitching required.
It is really unappreciative to not see what these guys are doing, and how rare is something like a BeerBistro event (or the place itself for that matter.) Would it hurt to think about that a little? _________________ In Beerum Veritas "... Misuse of Literally Makes Me Figuratively Insane..." |

| A, get over it...can't afford it...OK...I imagine you couldn't make it to Diana's wedding as well...is it fair or a rip-off? Depends on your prospective...if you can afford it and it's good...then it's a great value...if you can't afford it and don't go...I guess it's a rip-off...but going on and on about these events seems to only satisfy your ego so let's let it be. I personally think that most are very good values and I'm an agent so I'm also involved in the financial details...perhaps you have a greater insitght than the restaurants, producers and agents involved...if so, please share them with us...otherwise, enough is enough. |

| I'd love to see more in Ottawa... more importantly I'd like to see them promoted properly, I only ever here about beer events after the fact in the Ottawa Citizen society pages. |

| Belgian made a good point...the restaurant is basically closed for the night....I'm sure that A didn't extrapolate the expense into his calculations. Not to dump on him but if you don't think it 's good value, don't go...someone will buy your seat and I'm sure these type of events will continue to be popular. |

For sure, they could have simply let the usual custom fill the place & have several seatings - each of them bringing more revenue (& also the more frequent tips which servers usually depend on.)
Instead - BeerBistro defy all that to create a real cultural event, the likes of which is rarely seen in Toronto. _________________ In Beerum Veritas "... Misuse of Literally Makes Me Figuratively Insane..." |

That is quite a menu! I like the simplicity of the foods too - not everything needs a reduction or aioli to taste good |

I agree, the art is often simplicity not extravagance.
If you can make a killer combo with a few very specific ingredients, and make each ingredient matter, that's very cool. And less confusing for the digestion. _________________ In Beerum Veritas "... Misuse of Literally Makes Me Figuratively Insane..." |

| Just so you know, tickets were sold out by noon yesterday and there's about 40 people on a waiting list. |

Holy crap...that's quick. I wonder if there was any sort of ticket limit in place? So much for my 'pindering' this event. Good to see the popularity though.
I've got to make it out to one of these special events sooner or later... |
