Looks like there's a new beer bar in Kensington Market, with a most excellent name: Thirsty & Miserable
Brock from Burger Bar posted a photo on Twitter yesterday, so I did a bit of googling and found their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/thirstyandmiserabletoronto
No info about draught selection yet, but the bottle list is nice, and pretty reasonably priced:
EDIT: Poked around the FB page a bit more, and found a photo of tap handles for Spearhead, Mad Tom and Lug Tread with the caption "3 of 8 in place!". So there's some idea of what the tap list will look like... |

| Nice! That's a SOLID addition to the burgeoning Dundas/Kensington/College beer scene, with Magpie, Embassy, T&M, Burger Bar, Cloak & Dagger and Smokeless Joe's comprising a tidy little pub crawl. And I'm assuming they've named it after the Black Flag tune, which is baaaaadassss. |

| Excellent, another nice bar in the neighbourhood. I'll be checking it out soon. Thanks for the heads up, Greg. |

Good prices for the bottle list...9 bucks for a Rochefort 8? When do they open? _________________ "What can you say about Pabst Blue Ribbon that Dennis Hopper hasn’t screamed in the middle of an ether binge?" - Jordan St. John |

That is a nice line up! I'll totally need to go and support this place...
Hey Barry - not to derail the thread but are we going to be getting some more IPA kegs in pubs around the city at some point in the spring? I rather enjoyed those last time around.
Cheers! _________________ "What can you say about Pabst Blue Ribbon that Dennis Hopper hasn’t screamed in the middle of an ether binge?" - Jordan St. John |

| Went here for a half pint of Peche Mortel tonight. Definitely an impressive, and reasonably priced for Ontario, beer selection. I'm not sure if it's somewhere I'll go regularly. I'd rather go to Smokeless Joes or Volo, where the staff are a bit friendlier and you can order some kind of food, though. |

Haven't been yet, and will check it out, but the complete lack of food is a bit of a turn off for me...sometimes, it just takes a few sips of beer before I started getting hungry and its nice to just get something to snack on.
The blog TO review, with how "cool" the people in the place are, is weird. _________________ "What can you say about Pabst Blue Ribbon that Dennis Hopper hasn’t screamed in the middle of an ether binge?" - Jordan St. John |

We went last night as well, and I dug it. Good tap selection, nice bottle list - didn't get any of the "cool" thing that the reviewer kept stressing. Anyway, good vibe, good music, place was full up when we left at 9. One thing, though - there's a weird smell in there (fresh paint mixed with...fish? Because of the neighbouring fish shop?).
I'll definitely return, as I'm in the market several times a week, and usually end up at the Embassy (still great, just nice to have an alternative). |

| I love the premise of this place: a dive bar for people who like craft beer. Apparently the owners are beer geeks, but don't generally like more polished beer bars...much prefer dive bars. I haven't been yet but it sounds like the best of both worlds for me. |
