Unfortunately, I missed the cask festival last Sunday. Damn.
Dropped in to the Victory today (Monday evening), and the bartender mentioned that, given the success of the first one, they are "80% sure" that there will be another cask fest on the next Markham St. pedestrian Sunday, August 10th -- with an expanded line up.
Won't be missing this one, for sure. |

Anyone who cares to do both will have three other days to go to Fort York.
And for anyone who doesn't want to do Fort York, it'll provide a nice alternative.
Win-win situation. |

| Great news! Loved the inaugural event, and look forward to more! I really liked how the ticketing was set up, too. Definitely prefer that aspect of the Victory fest to the Volo one - much easier to get in (for now, at least.....wait until the word spreads....) |

I considered that, but theres plenty of room inside the building to expand into. We left fairly early, how jammed was it near the end? |

When I left around 3, things were getting a bit snug around the serving station. |

| I was there pretty much all day, and it seemed quite steady all that time. It never really got unwieldy at any time, varying between kind of busy and pretty darn busy but never zoo-esque. The casks emptied one by one, the Hop Bomb and the Hop Head the first to go (though I can't remember in which order). Apart from the usual suspects, there seemed to be quite a few newcomers -- some Victory regs and some people who just roamed in from the street fair. It was a terrific event -- hats off to the Victory folk. More than one cask festival in a year; our little town's growing up. |

Since it's tied to a closed street event Victory should look into extending their patio into the street (like bars & restaurants do on College fot taste of Little Italy). Watching the Volo event grow over the years as word spread I can only imagine the next Victory event will be more crowded...especially if they also offer one off or new beers like Volo does.
Regardless it was a great event that felt like a little secret we all shared on a beautiful summer afternoon. _________________ I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out. |

| That's great news! I missed the first one because I was out of town that weekend. That will be two beer festivals in a week for me as I will be going to Coles 4th annual IPA festival. I was at Coles yesterday and wanted to talk to the owner Mike to find out the details of this fest, I didn't see him so I'll have to try to get a hold of him by phone. |
