Cass (or anyone really), for the Ottawa folks who haven't been to the past Brewery Markets in Toronto... I'm not clear on how it works. Do we pay admission? Tickets and beer samples? Excuse me if this is listed somewhere and I missed it. i can't really find anything that describes how the event works.
Thanks! |

| It'll be similar to Toronto. No admission charge to get in. You buy tickets redeemable for food & beer from a ticket booth at the event space. |

Yesterday's Brewer's Backyard was the biggest one of the season. What a great way to cap off the year! Thanks to everyone for coming out.
Next up we have Ottawa on Saturday, and we'll also have a special section at Cask Days. Stay tuned for more on that.
Hope to see some of the Ottawa folks next weekend - let me know if you're going to be there as it would be great to say hi. |

I'm hoping to be there, completely dependent on when my wife decides to have a baby. I'll be the one with a beard. |

| What did people think of the Boom Gose the Dynamite? I quite liked it, but after it sat for a bit the aroma seemed to change significantly. From a slightly sour lemony note to an almost burnt popcorn character? Did anyone else find this, or are my sense wonky? |

Awesome event Cass, great job (as of 1:30). Real neighbourhood feel to it, the Market was made for Hintonburg. Nothing too exciting on tap (though I'm expecting an order of the Beau's oktoberfest brews today), but quality stuff available. Belle of the ball was Ashton for me. Was ignoring these guys, "big" city prejudice maybe, but their IPA, Vanilla Stout, and Brown were all fantastic beers, hope to head out to their pub ASAP. And, as a noted Mill Street apologist, I still say the White Cap out of the Ottawa pub is a great beer. Hintonburger was a great vendor to have there, everything was a bit pricey, but they provided decent value for the $6.
Much respect Cass, you continue to provide a great service to Ontario beer geeks, and I'm really happy to see you (and your minions) active in Bytown. |

Thanks Bytowner. The event exceeded the wildest of my expectations, I'd say we had 2,500+ people come through the gates throughout the day.
The weather cooperated and it was a great day for the brewers and everyone that attended. I was confident that Ottawa and the Hintonburg neighbourhood would get behind something like this, and boy did they!
Thanks for coming and thanks to everyone else reading who did! |

It was a great event. I arrived around 1:30 as well, and could only stay for a couple of quick ones while my wife and kids pigged out on donuts across the street. I would definitely have grooved on the Beau's stuff if I didn't have a pack coming as well. Had the Clocktower Pumpkin and the new kichesippi logger.
Thanks, Cass! |

Thoughts on the Logger? I wasn't impressed, but wasn't sure how much of it was because the beer was ice-cold. |

Yeah, it was just "meh" for me as well. Awfully light body for a porter for me. It was served awfully cold, you're right. I was also in a hurry so I really didn't have time to let it get to a better temperature.
I'd try it again in a different setting, but I wouldn't feel my life's work is a waste if I don't run into it again. |
