...also hipster iconography, btw! Ironically, of course! _________________ "What can you say about Pabst Blue Ribbon that Dennis Hopper hasn’t screamed in the middle of an ether binge?" - Jordan St. John |

i should also add that a 60-seat patio is days away from being open.
and they'll be opening for lunch on Fri, Sat and Sun. so yeah, no need to fret about lines |

| Take this with a grain of salt, but a Rhino bartender told me Monday that they'll soon have Peche on cask. Word. |

great! ordering a Peche from the Rhino is a great way to kill 15 minutes of your 1 hr GE wait. drinking it will kill another 30! |

Anyone been recently? Is there still a lineup every night for 6pm?
We're going down to see Rollins tonight at the Great Hall, and thought it'd be worth trying to get into for 6... _________________ "What can you say about Pabst Blue Ribbon that Dennis Hopper hasn’t screamed in the middle of an ether binge?" - Jordan St. John |

Oops...just realized Rollins is at Glen Gould - guess we're going to Bar Hop! _________________ "What can you say about Pabst Blue Ribbon that Dennis Hopper hasn’t screamed in the middle of an ether binge?" - Jordan St. John |

We were there twice this month, on a Sunday, and a Wednesday. We had to wait at least an hour to get in each time. So we went over to the Rhino for cheap pints while we waited. _________________ "You wanna talk some jive? I'll talk some jive. I'll talk some jive like you've never heard!" |

Was at GE recently at opening time, wait was short and the optional inside/outside bar seating gets rid of the waiting line pretty fast.
Now if they could get rid of the stylish drug addicts wearing furs tramping all over the place & acting weird... taking literary license here of course! No GE's a very fun, very satisfying place & I want to go more often. _________________ In Beerum Veritas "... Misuse of Literally Makes Me Figuratively Insane..." |

Finally tried the place! I was in the neighbourhood on a Sunday and headed to the Rhino at around 5:00. We staked out the joint and it looked safe to head over.
Around 6:15, they sat us at the bar, in the semi-covered, semi-heated patio area. Part of me thinks those were the last seats in the house! So yeah, still very busy, though they're opening an upstairs area and will start opening earlier.
I thought the food was just great. Very reasonable prices, lots of interesting specials, and seasonal beers from Bellwoods? Hook a big brother up!
The main room was blasting hip-hop, but the patio was quiet enough for conversation. Maybe I'm hipster-blind, but I didn't think the crowd was as obnoxious as some have claimed. The service was also really good. Our server patiently stood by while we deliberated over the choices, offering astute suggestions. The bartender was also attentive (maybe the fact that we were sitting at the bar made it easier for him).
Would definitely return for the guacamole alone. |

Had a relative in from out of town so took her here last night. Boy it sure is a great spot but getting in can be a bit maddening. Arrived at 9:45pm, seated at 11:15. Luckily Rhino served as a nice waiting spot with a couple of beers. GE doesn't do the cellphone calling presently.
Regardless, when seated it's awesome, the tacos were spicy and delicious. They had Bellwoods saison and a 2nd "Fall Saison" which I tried, super dark. They also had Corne du Diable on tap, along with a "Cerveza Monkey" and another one (Agua something?). Good tunes, good service. |
