Indeed! Will probably still split a sample with the girlfriend though. A second beer will be on standby... _________________ lister |

Which subway station do you think that's a 20 minute walk from?
Anyway, the Davisville 28 bus runs down there now when there are events on. _________________ saintjohnswort.ca |

Walking from Castle Frank station (with some very nice, quiet Rosedale side streets and some beautiful time on the Beltline Trail) would be in the 20 min. ballpark. |

I timed a stroll along this route at 25 minutes but you want to have good directions so you won't miss the entrance to Craigleith Gardens, the entrance to Milkman's Lane and the paths to take after you hit the bottom of Milkman's Lane. It's a beautiful walk down but you might want to avoid the uphill hike back by taking the shuttle bus. |

I looked at that when the details became available; wish I knew if there'd be increased shuttle service during the fest. It seems hard to imagine it would be enough to deal with the volume, esp. given the session end times and the last shuttle times.
As robinvboyer noted, not the most transit-friendly site. |
Not sure if you guys saw this yet, but Mill St is providing another Shuttle to and from Broadview:

I think this is in addition to the Brickworks shuttle - plus, the caskdays shuttle will run more often at peak hours. _________________ "What can you say about Pabst Blue Ribbon that Dennis Hopper hasn’t screamed in the middle of an ether binge?" - Jordan St. John |

All week, Volo is having a "pre-cask days" event. All traditional British casks and they're serving them out on the patio.
House Ales has some good stuff like a robust porter and a mild and a really nice English Barley Wine.
But there's some overlooked Ontario mainstays too, that are neat to try on cask, like F and M Dark, Hockley Dark, Ploughman's, and McLean's has a barley wine going on probably tomorrow.
Totally worth checking out and a nice warm up to cask days. _________________ "What can you say about Pabst Blue Ribbon that Dennis Hopper hasn’t screamed in the middle of an ether binge?" - Jordan St. John |

| Yes, I was able to try a few and this has been one of my favourite parts of Cask Days since they implemented it a few years back. Highlights: House Ales Tim's Way (the porter) and Mutts Nutts (the barley wine); Nickelbrook 80 Shilling. Lowlight: Hockley Traditional. All IMO, of course. |

Awesome Awesome Awsesome!!!
I know some people are still going tomorrow, so I'll wait to hear their responses then.
I'll say this much, last year it was all about the Quebec station, this year Ontario seemed to have the busiest space in festival.
Can't wait to hear what people thought were the highlights! I certainly have my favourite. _________________ "What can you say about Pabst Blue Ribbon that Dennis Hopper hasn’t screamed in the middle of an ether binge?" - Jordan St. John |

| Most of the Ontario beers seemed to finish first. I missed out on the Tempest and I'm pretty pissed about that...but Stalin's Choice was far and away my favourite, then Trou du Diable's La Butuese. |

| Flying Monkeys Mark Henry Sexual Chocolate Triple Take Down Stout, the ultimate "festival" beer, in the sense that it was unlike anything else and made an enormous impression on the senses, even if you perhaps wouldn't sit down and drink an entire pint of it. Then Stalin's Choice second and Great Lakes x House Ales x Nickelbrook Farmhouse Harvest Ale third. I missed the Tempest before it was gone as well. |
