Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
Harviestoun Old Engine Oil drinking very nicely . Dry and bitter like St. Ambroise, with a softer mouthfeel and bit more heft. I do wish the cans were bigger.

I picked those up yesterday, haven't tried em yet. The maple IPA collab with The Veil is fantastic!

Shinny Pants is also quite good. Loads of flavour for a light stout. I usually grab a couple when I see it and it never lasts long in my fridge.

Ditto. I am enjoying the Collective Arts Wet Hop a bit more. Bine Hunter was the best of the three, by a wide margin.alsiem wrote:So I'm finding the Great Lakes Chinook Wet Hop just Ok.

Zundert 10 — Picked this one up as I've been neglecting quads. It's a pretty good effort from a Trappist I'd never heard of before. It seems like there's been a mini boom in Trappist breweries in the past 5-10 years. I remember when I could name them all! Speaking of which — where the HELL is Orval?!

Brasserie de Blaugies Bière Darbyste — Great Belgian saison with some some added fruitiness via the added fig juice. Less spicy than many, and I enjoyed it better before the final pour, laden with sediment (that had strangely accumulated on one side of the bottle). Glad I picked up a few of these an...

Re: Wellington
I believe breweries that have multiple sites/stores can sell beer from either site in both stores. For instance, Bellwoods sells all their labels at both Hafis and Ossington, even though most production happens at Hafis. I think it's like this: If you have a brewery, you can get a on-site store wher...

Einbecker Ur-Bock Hell - Surprised to find this lager at the LCBO in a tiny (by German standards) 330 ml bottle, but it's quite tasty. Round malty notes, strong aroma, balanced hop profile. As I nearly finished it I saw it's 6.5% abv, which explains its flavour potency. I need to find more maibock!

Re: Spending/Drinking More or Less on Beer during Pandemic?
I think my overall consumption has been down, but I have probably purchased/drank the same amount of retail beer. Not visiting at bars/breweries/restos has been good for my wallet. I also ordered from some brewers I had long been wanting to try (HHOE and Dominion City).

Re: 2020 Summer Ontario Craft Beers & Imports at the LCBO
I'll give them a pass because of the pandemic — but this list stinks.
I will be greedily grabbing Hopsinjoor if I see it. And I've picked up a case of Harviestoun Bitter & Twisted when I saw it marked down at my local.

Re: Cigar City Marshal Zhukov Russian Imperial Stout
I debated keeping this to myself until I can make it back to the store: Marshal Zhukov has been reduced to $15 (even online), but it scans for a rock-bottom $10 at Summerhill LCBO. Yeti is marked down to $9 at the same store. I love having big bottles of big stouts on hand. Update: looks like Marsha...

Great Lakes Krispy Clear — Really unique flavour almost a lemony-melon, gose-like tartness... very subtle and super fresh today. Great for a light lager.
