Re: Godspeed Brewery

My last Taru Ichi can went off like a rocket - lost about half of it.

The Kizuna was alright - maybe a bit too citrus forward (I think Bim and Shaun came up with the recipe ages ago and that was Shaun's extent of it being brewed). Better to drink at room temperature.

Re: Worst Ontario Craft Breweries

Based on their lager, Northern Superior. And yes, I know they're aiming for the crowd that really misses the Bill Sharpe Northern brews.

Re: Barley Days Brewery

They did a one off Irish stout that was on tap at a few pubs in the area that was surprisingly good years ago. Cant say I've had any of their stuff since

It's no world beater, but the Silkie Stout at 2 bucks and a dime has been a semi-regular for me.

Some good news in that Ontario release if you're a ticker. The collective Arts IPA7 is what i'll be on the lookout for.

Re: What're you drinking right now?

I'll cop that the beers are not in their prime (my local LCBO just got the pack in a month ago) but it's like Central City stayed away from any brewer that outshines them, or in the case of Trailway and Torque, drug them down to the level of their other collaborators. The Upstreet collab had me pini...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Did the Across the Nation packs over the last week and a bit. This whole project is like Beer Camp if the Kamp Krusty councilors were put in charge of brewing. The fast-fading Torque collab was my favourite of the bunch while at least 3 of these got poured down the drain.

Ayinger Marzen - mmmmmmm

I'll buy a few Rosetta, Ueirge, and Aventinus. Hell, I'll give the British BA stouts a chance, ratings be damned.

At a dollar Barley Days is still overpriced.

Can't wait til he starts cutting health care to pay for this scheme ;)

Love Bellwoods, but I gotta buy some brakes for my car. Hard pass.

I'll try my luck the day after the fest.

Didn't do any pubs in Portland though Definitive was doing pours. Had some drinks at Barreled Souls in Saco which was really good, as well as the famed Ebeneezers in Lovell

Re: Portland, ME

Portland has always been a good beer city but things have exploded there recently (One friend remarked it was bordering on oversaturation with all the hazy IPA). I'd still pop in to the 4 or 5 hop factories in the industrial plaza (Definitive had a damn good BBQ food truck) but tour-wise Allagash is...

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives

I've yet to win an LCBO lottery.

I'm wondering with all the demand a better idea may have been to sell the bottles as a 3 pack, 1 of each, for the 50 dollars and change and limit that to 1 per person.
