I had a good time... my biggest complaint (other than the fucking humidity) was that I waited in the wrong line for ages. I bought my ticket online the day before, and waited with my printed receipt in the ticket-holder line. I arrived at 3:45pm and waited in that line until I reached the front, to ...

On a whim I submitted a dunkelweizen I brewed for the first time. Very basic recipe, partial mash. This was the first beer I've ever submitted to a competition; I was just curious to get some feedback. I thought the beer turned out OK and I had exactly 3 bottles left at the back of the fridge. I liv...

You will be getting your feedback. I have all the sheets ready to send out. I just need to print labels, stuff envelopes and package prizes. The aim is to have everything out by the end of the month, sooner if possible. I must apologize on the scoring. I wasn't aware that the scores would be visibl...

I guess what I was getting at is since a Geuze is a mix of two already aged beers, what's the basis for there being a general guideline for how long you should age a Geuze before drinking? Unless it's just about giving it enough time for the source Lambics to fully blend and get to know each other,...

Great experiment, thanks for reporting back! I haven't tried the Danstar, but I think the WLP001 is fruiter than the US-05. It seems to have more of a citrus flavour, which works well with the American hops. The US-05 is perhaps a bit more neutral, though it can throw off more vanilla-like flavours...

Ok - I finally got around to trying the batch brewed with WLP001, and it's awesome. It's pretty similar to the US-05, but I think the hop flavor is more pronounced. Who knows for sure, but it tastes awesome and of the 3 the most like Crazy Canuck. Initially I had thought the yeast bite in the Dansta...
