Oh, it seemed to me from the article that they could only buy from TBS or the LCBO. The part where the restaurant owner was saying if it's sold at TBS, he has to buy from there. What that means is that if the same product (sku) is sold at both the LCBO and the Beer Store, licensees must buy that pr...

To sell a beer in depanneurs not brewed in Quebec you must set up a division of the company in Quebec and keep your beer at a bonded warehouse. I was involved when Unibroue was putting Orval and the Riva Beers into the deps back in the '90s. All those imported beers in deps are in fact imported!

Bruton Beer Dinner at DiVino Wine Studio in Ottawa

Hi, I am leading a best of Italy vs. Canada beer dinner at DiVino Wine Studio here in Ottawa on June 8. All 4 of the Bruton beers, available only in consignment from the Stem Wine Group, will go head to head against a top Canadian beer of the same style. Come experience authentic Italian cuisine mat...

Best Fruit Beer in Ontario?

I am looking at doing a beer tasting and I was wondering what people thought was the best fruit beer in Ontario? A couple of provisos: - must be currently available in bottle from either TBS or LCBO - must be brewed in either Ontario or Quebec - a fruit beer is any beer containing fruit and does not...

Re: Brussels White

Is it a good idea to call ahead for reservations? Yes. St. Veronus has become a huge success story in Peterborough. Its proof that anywhere can support a (Belgian) beer themed restaurant if the food and service are great and the owners and staff are passionate about what they do. They doubled in si...

I am sure Molbatts has seen the success in other markets of 'energy drinks' like Red Bull & Vodka. These concoctions have taken over the new / younger drinkers market that Molbatts needs and relies on to stay profitable and as such doesn't want to be left behind.

Some of you may remember Big Hole Brewing's 'Headstrong Pale Ale' that was available I believe at TBS / BRI for a short period of time in the mid to late 90's. I guess the name was not trademarked in Canada?

Peter and I tried this in October at the GABF along with their 'Hazed and Infused'. I thought the Mojo was excellent and bringing it in would guarrantee us an invitation to the local men's station. Peter thought the H&I would be of more interest to the LCBO. Unfortunately, there have been no dev...

Right you are nys, however the Chimay that is part of the winter beer promotion is in fact the richer and stronger Blue Cap. Go out and get some while you can.

I have always felt like the Academy was like my living room, only that the furniture there is nicer. I have no problem spending hours there relaxing away in a club chair enjoying good company with a decent amount of personal space as to not feel crowded. I feel the Academy gives the Golden Tap Award...

I will second the Nostradamus and the Timmermans Blanche Gueuze. Also, Smokeless is the only one to currently have the Cantillon Fou'Foune (apricot).
