Innis and Gunn Highland Cask. Everything they do kind of sucks, doesn't it. Not everything. I'm fond of the Canadian cask. And their new winter warmer is quite nice. Anybody have a bottle of Canadian cask? And what the hell is the winter warmer? Will trade.... The winter warmer's in their holiday g...

I'm looking into some bus charter quotes and see about a bus trip down to Blue Monk. I think that would be a nice little Saturday. Would there be interest from the gang here? There will be expressions of interest from 12-15 people, who will then spend 2 weeks bitching about the price of the charter...

Re: Brandy

Is there anyone here who's a brandy enthusiast? I have unearthed a 1972 vintage Trillium brandy from the old Reider distillery in Grimsby. Is this a collectible? i'm going to take a wild guess that trillium was/is related to kitling ridge distillery. had some of their alambic xo brandy at my weddin...

You do realize the Brooklyn actually doesn't have any chocolate or cocoa in it, right?

But even in the US many micros are only seasonally avaiable. It's their low capacity. They just can't brew all their beers all at once!! I don't follow. DDC, ST, DFH, etc. all have beers that are available year round in their "native" markets. I think Gedge means that not all of the ST, D...

So is the Black Chocolate Stout being released again this year? It is not listed in either the fall or Halloween release... I thought it was general listed, its still on the LCBO. It's being brought in again as a winter seasonal. I suspect they just kept the old SKU active in the system so they did...

if the OP is talking about something that the warehouse doesnt have in stock then it would be a transfer. if the OP want a regular list item brought into his store then this simplifies the process. Got that. But wouldn't the transfer work like this?: --Ship product back to warehouse (along with old...

[quote="SteelbackGuy"] But like I said, it is really discretionary. Each store has a shipping budget, and the store requesting the transfer has to pay the shipping, so managers certainly keep an eye on that./quote] Thanks for shedding some more light on the process, Len. I'm curious, thoug...

I think the problem is actually with the number of BJCP categories, which is bordering on the ridiculous. There are only 23 official BJCP beer categories, but competitions are welcome to make up their own, combine, colapse, etc as they see fit, and still be sanctioned. As Greg correctly points out,...

The suspicious and paranoid (me) might think that the big breweries have contributed to the cause or have a position in the game and demand something for their contributions or maybe it is simply it is important to show our 'Canadian-ness' and try to acknowledge why we are a fence riding, bland, li...

The first thing that came to my mind is just as you said, drier and a lighter flavour compared to last year. Also, it has more of a bitter finish and more carbonation than what I recall from last year. I will have to get a few more bottles as this continues to be my favorite seasonal offering from ...

I don't know (please enlighten me otherwise...) the 'choice' may be paying per-store listing fees OR a huge system-wide fee, so they are dealing with a rigid province-wide system which really favors large producers. There's no listing fee at the LCBO, Belgian. There are a lot of hoops to jump throu...
