BC Beer

My wife just came back from a week in BC. While there, she hit the local liquor store to pick me up some BC Craft beer. After repacking her bags at the airport, managed to get these home without paying for overweight. It was Christmas time at home when she unpacked, for she brought back: 6 - Red Rac...

Vancouver Pubs or Brewpubs

My wife is heading off for Vancouver tomorrow and is looking for some places to hit, with some good food and good beer. We already have been to Yaletown brewery.

She also has promised to bring me back some beers that we can't get here. What a great wife!

Any ideas?

I was at the first session last night. Mirella really knows her stuff. The first class, held at Duggan's was interesting, interactive and informative. The beer was excellent too.

Can hardly wait for the next one!

I believe there are still places available for the next five classes.

This happened to me a year ago. I was coming back from a fencing tournament in Colorado Springs and was bringing back 3, Two Below from New Belgium Brewery and 3 Red Rocket Pale Ale from Bristol Brewing wrapped in towels. I had locked my bag. When I arrived home I found the lock had been cut and pla...

Dallas

Hi,

I am going to be in Dallas at the end of the month for a couple of fencing tournaments. Arriving a couple of days early though to explore. Do you know of a good beer place down in the convention centre area.

I see Angry Dog is not too far away. Any comments

Thanks All!!

My wife and I were there on Friday night and were impressed. The barkeep was quite friendly and chatty, and the St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout was excellent as usual. It's just about a 20 minute walk north of us, so is a place we'll definitely return to.

Gueuze is available at The Bier Markt on King, which is where I had it for the first time. The Mort Subite Gueuze and the Lindemans Cuvee Rene Gueuze were fabulous.

Picaroons

I have good friends that moved from Toronto to Fredericton, New Brunswick a year ago. They came back for Christmas and happily brought me a holf dozen, Picaroons Yippee IPA (gotta love that name) and a half dozen Winter Warmers. Great trying beers from other provinces that we can't get here. The Fed...

I had my wife pour the 2008 and 2009 in seperate glasses while I was out of the room. I came back and compared not knowing what was what. Turns out I found the 2009 more enjoyable. Surprisingly it seemed more balanced and smoother than the 2008. I noticed more alcohol in the taste of the 2008. The 2...

My wife and I were at the Brewpub last night. She had the Asian lager and enjoyed it. I thought it had an aroma and taste of theater buttered popcorn. My wife said it tasted of popcorn flavoured jellybeans.

The Clock Tower Brewpub Ottawa

Just had an overnight in Ottawa and hit the Clock Tower Brewpub in the Bymarket area. I hear they have two other locations. My first pint was the Wishart's Bitter, an excellent ESB. Fell in love with this one immediately! This I followed up with a well balanced Fenian Red, another enjoyable experien...
