I think a better experiment is to go to as many Beer Stores as you can and ask 'what is the best beer you have?'. I'm sure some solid answers will be given by employees who actually like beer, but I also bet those Top Sellers would be mentioned too. I did that the summer before last at three differ...

Re: The Beer Store Experiment

what if.... we went to one Beer Store location and ordered a whole bunch of a brand that isn't on their Big Ten list. We kept on ordering and ordering ridiculous quantities. Would that brand (for example, La Fin du Mond) make it to the Big Ten list? or is that list an advertising lie? People still ...

If it's the same shipment that hit Alberta a couple of weeks back, then it's pretty fresh; bottled end of May 2012. Pretty fresh, as in, almost three months old right now. Count me out if that's the case. -sigh- Nice to know ontario beer scene has barely changed since I've been gone. Even at that a...

NOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooo I'm coming home next week to ontario, having a regular supply of craft ipa's from the states (20 mins to the border, 20 more to a sweet craft beer store in washington state) I can honestly say the RPA is the best IPA I've ever had, and I may as well throw it in that categor...

Ya the liquor system in ontario is a fricken joke. I'm glad I'm out. I'm so closed to the washington border here in BC I drive across once a month on a beer run and get all them good hoppy ales from the states for 9 bucks a 6 pack. Until this countries view on liquor is fixed, that's what I'm doing....

Against my brains judgement I bought a 6 pack at the brewery today.. brought my mother along with me because she was curious about breweries and such. I had to get her out of the house for the surprise 30th anniversary party anyway. This beer is....... godly. The greatest thing from Ontario without ...

I was thinking of swinging by the brewery to pick some up, my dad is a hophead and he said this stuff is great, best of the bunch in Ontario - which from him is high praise.

How much is a 6 pack at their brewery?

Nickel Brook Headstock IPA - Worth a look?

I'm back in Ontario visiting because it's my parents 30 year anniversary and I've planned a pretty big party for them, and I was just checking out the beer scene here in Ontario, and nickel brook has an IPA out at the LCBO now huh? Is it worth a look? Their stuff has always been so inconsistent to m...

Not since I've been to BC, but Red Racer is in a can, and the Bels Two hearted ive gotten from over the border have been bottled within two weeks. I had a smashbomb IPA from Flying Monkeys back in ontario left and i noticed it on the bottom. Noticed it often on bottles over 4 weeks with Mad Tom, Sma...

Sediment at the bottom of IPA's or other Ales

What is this? I frequently see it on older bottles of IPA. (Not old but bottled 4 weeks ago or more). I taste no difference, I pour it into a glass so it all mixes in. Just wondering what it was, not like the beer went bad it tasted the same as another bottle that didn't have it. Well it's not so mu...

I honestly didn't like it. I love stouts, but this was so smokey it felt like I was eating dirt from the pit of a volcano. It's one of the only beers I didn't finish. That epic smokey after taste just turns me right off, even in food or other things than beer. bleh.
