Keep us posted - there's nothing like taking a sip from your first batch of homebrew...the key to remember is that from here on out, the learning curve is huge, and your beers will only improve and your techniques will too. You will run into the occasional dud batch (or is it just me??), but just th...

I've encountered success with both the PET bottles that are popular and Grolsch-style bottles. The keys are to keep everything sterile and clean, and to keep the bottles out of stinky bottle syndrome lights (especially flourescent lights!). Keep in mind that smaller bottles will age faster than larg...

The Granite (next to Denison's and C'est What) is one of those rare places that exudes integrity and a love of the zymurgist's art. I would whole-heartedly support anyone's crafty idea in invading their copper kettles and wish everyone who has not been there a great time...their beers are fantastic ...

Sounds fantastic. I have worked with the Chef at Myth in a previous restaurant and I know that his vast cooking skills are up to the challenge of these heavyweight brews. With all the ink spilt on food and wine matching (especially Mediterranean foods), it will be educational and enlightening to see...

Thanks Perry for the warm welcome. Just to de-mystify the nomenclature of this username: Homer Simpson wins a drinking contest at a bar named, you guessed, Tipsy McStagger. But the name is rather ironic, considering that most of us here are in search of the best brews around, as opposed to shot-gunn...

Hey Doublefist - there's certainly be a mountainful of information for homebreweing out there, and it can be a little confusing when you first start out. My biggest advice I can give you is to work clean and sterile. All you need is a dirty/unsantized piece of hose, a bucket that hasn't been cleaned...

I would like to add my proverbial 2 cents on this matter, but by looking at it first through the eyes of a wine consumer. When going to the (average) LCBO, you will find that the selection of wine, while large, is fairly homogenous, with a few interesting items thrown in for good measure. Just like ...
