Re: Goose Island Migration Week - May 26-29

I just got back from there too! Yeah it was a huge swarm at the bar. I justified the price by helping myself to one of their promotional T-shirts and a free pint glass which they were giving away in the corner. All in all, was kinda nice to try the Bourbon County Stout on tap.

There is something very perversely satisfying about a new beer that just recently came out. I loved this when Mad Tom first came out and the same when Smashbomb, Red Racer, Nickelbrook etc came out with their offerings. It's also a good way to remind yourself of being on a patio on a hot summer night.

LCBO at Kennedy Commons (401 and Kennedy) plays a samba-esque version of Buzzcocks "Ever Fallen in Love" played by the Nouvelle Vague.

Normally I don't care for any of the music to be honest, but it's kinda cool.

I was concerned about the bottling date on the Black IPA as well, drank it a few days ago and I'm still impressed at the intensity of the hops. I don't think I got a real sense of the roastier or porter-like elements of the beer as some reviewers commented but I was still very satisfied. Although so...

Biere Du Boucanier Golden Ale I haven't had an 11% ale before so this one is fairly strong for me. The alcohol just hits you but it gets better as it warms up, tastes very similar to a Duvel with more alcohol bite and fruity esthers. It's the kind of beer that makes you wonder whats up with all the ...

If anyone wants to split anything with me, please let me know too? I don't know if I wanna get a case but I'm totally interested if I can get some brews for what was paid by case? Also what are the prices by case order? Is it a significant mark up with other costs added (basically the same as a priv...

Just shared one with my best friend, malty, hoppy bitterness with non-noticeable alcohol taste. Comes off a bit sweet but still good!

Russel Bloody Alley Bitter bomber, thanks to the guy who randomly gave this to me a month or so ago! Cheers to ya! Super jealous of that mixed bag of unique beers you had there then! I think as a part of Toronto Beer Week or was it something to do with the Golden Tap awards? Anyway you totally made ...

The Ghosttown was a little curious to me, I have a pretty open palette so I didn't think it was horrible by any stretch. Although I wasn't particularly fond of the flavours, it wasn't too far off from a stout but it possessed some odd medicinal notes of licorice and absinthe. The slightly sour after...

From Great Lakes on Facebook ‎"40 bottles of Imperial Pumpkin ale now available in the retail store. $9.95 per bottle. Limit two. 9.7%. our brewer recommends aging this puppy until at least Christmas." Having heard lukewarm impressions about the beer, I'm tempted and curious to see what th...

Highballer is in the LCBO inventory, retailed for 3.60 for a 500ml bottle! Apparently I got the last bottle of ST Pumking at the Yonge/Bloor LCBO. When asked whether they were getting more, they said it'd be a week at least and that a new pumpkin beer was also coming in (Hint Hint). Next week is gun...

Capping off the beautiful summer with a Miami Weisse which was kind of underwelming and my last bottle of Black Oak's 10 Bitter Years.

Just trying to make space in my fridge so I can get some of those Fall beers in!
