Hi Cass, Not sure if you'll get this in time, but I just thought I'd make a couple of recommendations as well. I've been to de Wildeman and would recommend it highly, despite some people's bad experience with the service. The beer selection is great and they even have a non-smoking room - very rare ...

Hi Jaymack - sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but I've been kind of busy lately and not online too much. The bottles are yours if you still want them - I have a few dozen I believe, all 500ml. I'll need some time to get them organized, at which point I'll be able to tell you just how many...

Beer bottles - free to a good home

If there's anyone out there who wants some 500ml bottles for bottling your home brew I've got a few dozen that I'd like to get rid of. I was saving them for home brewing myself, but have too many and am not doing any brewing anyways. Many have been washed and have had the labels removed. Yours for t...

At least we now have a decent selection of Pale Ales: Black Oak Pale Ale Tankhose Ale Niagara Falls Pale Ale Cameron's Auburn Wellington SPA (don't say anything about Rickards or the new Upper Canada...) - I'm still bitter that Dragon's Breath was taken away... You could ad Headstrong to that list,...

I was at Allen's last Friday and they had the already mentioned Dennisons (Dunkel, that is), Fuller's ESB and Headstrong Pale Ale, which I had a couple of pints of. Very tasty! Many others on tap also, but these were the highlights that I can remember.

I believe people had to ask at the front for booze and some guy got it from the back, very similar to the Beer Store today. This goes back before my time, but I think my father-in-law once told me that the LCBO used to require customers to have a type of "permit", sort of like an age of m...

New York Times article on U.S. Pale Ales

There's a good article on American Pale Ales in yesterday's New York Times , complete with audio reviews of a few of them. Of the beers mentioned, only Anchor Liberty Ale is available in Ontario, but interesting nonetheless. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/06/29/dining/29ales.html?incamp=article_popular...
