I was here last Friday afternoon. It's very...quaint. Small. Pretty standard pub decor, with a piano, guitar, banjo and drums holding the promise of live music at night. There were mostly Church Key brews on top, five or so, with the exception of Durham's Black Katt. I gather from some of the tap ha...

So given the list were there any that you loved, hated, or had new appreciation for? The Orval and the Westmalle are the best of the bunch I'd say. I really enjoyed the Doppel Hirsh. Nice and smooth, with dried fruit flavors and some chocolate and caramel sweetness, but I wouldn't mind if there was...

Queen's Quay/Cooper St, Summerhill and Bayview Village are probably the best three (at least that I know of). The LCBO in Liberty Village is the one I go to most often. It has a surprisingly good selection for such a small store. It's worth checking out. I personally don't find Summerhill all that ...

whatever they have on cask They were having a hell of a time with their cask on the Sunday of the Cask Crawl, which is the only time I've tried anything on cask there. I'm assuming that was an anomaly and that it normally doesn't take them ten minutes and 50+ pulls to serve a completely destroyed p...

I was here again last Saturday, my first visit there in about a year. I'd kind of forgotten that, while there are certainly better places in Toronto for beer, it's not a bad little spot in its own right. They had a pretty good selection on tap, all from Ontario craft brewers. I didn't go there with ...

I was so close to having my last one tonight.

But I grabbed the McEwan's Scotch Ale instead.

I think I made a big mistake; McEwan's Scotch Ale burns going down.

Well, there is nothing like their Barleywine, Imperial Stout, Chocolate Stout, Imperial IPA, or Imperial Pils being made here off the top of my head. I'd love to find out for myself. And don't get me wrong. I was talking about the beers I have tried, the ones the LCBO carry. Which seem like some of...

I'm looking forward to finally checking it out when I am home for Easter John - sounds like my kind of place. Did you manage to get there? Any good? I plan to visit on the 24th and swing by the brewery afterwards to pick up some West Coast Pale Ale while I'm in the area. Can't wait. It's such a nea...

Well first post, here goes. I have been happy with the other Rogue products I have tried over the past while. The BB, though very enjoyable, was nothing to get overly excited about IMO. I say that because Mill St. Tankhouse is my session beer of choice of late. As such I didn't find the BB offered ...

Huh? Has Grand River changed the recipe, or can a lager be considered a bitter? These awards have a "Honey" category, I do not think they are too hung up on styles... They can't be if the winner in that category is made with maple syrup. Also forgive my ignorance, but what constitutes a s...

Scarcity of supplies

With apologies if this is a newbie blunder or common knowledge that I've just been too obtuse to come across before or the sort of thing that gets asked all the time and makes people angry when it gets asked again, but why does it seem so hard to find home brewing supplies in Ontario? It seems like ...
