I went a few summers ago and found it expensive for what you get. Totally agree that it seems more suited for the pretentious lot, there was certainly nothing noteworthy in a bottle or keg when I was there, nor was the food worth the price. A big, solid "meh" from this guy.

I took the plunge and grabbed a Dead Elephant from the 'BO this afternoon (which was, surprisingly, dead and made for a far more pleasant shopping trip than anticipated). When it was really cold, the smoke was fully absent, but now that it's warming up she's creeping in. Far less than the first batc...

Well, if that take-out price break down is right, I feel better about the state of beer in Ontario... Now if only Sobeys were as cool as Milos, maybe I wouldn't be paying for the five crackers I'm no longer getting in a box of Triscuits!

That's damned annoying. I hate how companies feel that consumers are too dumb to notice decreases in volume like that; and I hate how many consumers ARE too dumb to notice it. In the past year I've seen price increases on the awful coffee my parents buy, which went from a 1kg tin price @$8 to a 970g...

London Ale House

I didn't start this thread in "Good Pub Reviews" because, well, it isn't. Don't bother, their "over 14" taps (15, total) offer nothing more exotic than London Pride and nothing decent , locally, other than Mill St "ale" and "stout" with some Okanagan for you a...

Jeez, I have a 90%-complete platform agnostic version of this idea sitting in my projects folder right now. Perhaps I'll put it online anyway at some point...

Arcadia IPA an hour or so ago, a Brew Dog Punk IPA now and I may finish off with a Smuttynose IPA or, if I'm feeling ambitious, a Yellow Snow. I'm anticipating some hops will start budding on me anytime now; I'm okay with this. Fair warning, London residents, I may go clean out a good portion of Bra...

Aye, that I was. But good call on the brush; I only claim to be smart during the week!

So, do I get sympathy for having washed one of my Sam Adams glasses to try this beer out—I defy anyone to get their hand in this thing—,only to discover that it's stinky and doesn't taste very good? (I don't feel I need to go in to the science of it right now, I have a hand cramp) This high-tech aro...

The smell of burning rags! Yes, the dryer started smoking last night, London's finest showed up, and yes the bar did have smoke in it- febreeze is my best friend this morning, and I am saving the good stuff for the main floor as my office smells a lot! No issues though with the beer although the la...

I'm a huge fan of the Mo', I have to say. Except for when it catches on fire while I'm enjoying a--finally--nice, hoppy ale. Those firemen were certainly interested in having me pay my bill... Good times, otherwise. The only thing that could make it better would be a nice, consistent craft selection...

So like, maybe it's because the past 4 days of my life have been one big chlorinated blur of 5:30am swim practices, and not having any time to myself until now, but I tried this last night and am enjoying the rest of my growler now and I really like it. Maybe the chlorine on my tongue works with th...

I have a long ass night of work ahead of me, so I decided to break in to the Propeller stash my folks brought back from 'Scotia for me. Tonight's victim is a Propeller Pale Ale, which I hadn't actually tried before (last time I was in Halifax it was sitting beside the IPA in the NSLC... and since it...

Maybe a few London Bartowellers want to arrange meeting here on the 24th to support not only a new local bar and local beer, but also a fellow bartowel Dj? Doesn't seem like one of those Bad Ideas I've heard about, in fact, I'd say it's pretty good. I will have to scout the location beforehand and ...
