From what I understand, Rickards White is Blue Moon that you can get in the US, and since the Molson-Coors merger is mostly brewed in Toronto. Pretty good for a North American mass-market witbier. Although the Rickards doesn't have very many reviews on Ratebeer, it's funny that the Rickards stigma h...

Thanks, Rob. That explains why it tastes like a hoppier Tankhouse. Garth, I'm sure of those prices, but that's before tax and tip, of course. They've actually lowered some of the other prices, like DFH Indian Brown is now $6.99 a bottle, down from $8 or $9. Raison D'Etre has come down too. I think i...

New Beer Bistro beer menu
The Beer Bistro has brought in a bunch of new beers for their Spring menu this week. I was happy to try some of them this evening. Please consider the number of beers I'm attempting to review in one evening... Avery IPA (6.0%ish, $7ish/330ml bottle) - very good; similar hop characteristics to Laguni...

I'm with you on the Brutal Bitter - I love it but not quite as much as I remember it last year (maybe because we've since gotten access to some other great IPA's but it don't think this batch is quite as good). The Kells is very good for a lager - what else can I say? I'm loving the Orval this year....

Actually, American IPA is one of my favourite styles and I do agree that most of them are better fresh. However, in the 60 minute I find the bittering hops obscure some of the other flavours so I enjoyed this accidentally aged version. I'd still take a fresh 90 minute over the 60 any day. And don't ...

Aging Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA
I forgot about a 6-pack of DH 60 that I had in the basement that I bought last August and cracked it open recently. I now find it much more balanced than fresh. I even bought a new 6 to try it vertically. The aged version loses some of the bitter aftertaste and add a little caramel. i normally prefe...
