I just purchased two bottles of this over the past two weeks and both were fine. I actually found this years a bit better than last years, it isn't a big ale like ST but it has just enough pumpkin and spices to work for me unlike a few other pumpkin ales that lacked in one area or another.

I am enjoying this. Like others have said it isn't a really "big" imp stout but close. Great mouth feel and balance, along with lots of complexities, but again nothing to crazy. Very drinkable and the 9.0% must be a typo because it comes across as a 6.0. A really nice, balanced, enjoyable ...

I can't believe I'm saying this but.... Isn't that really just more pumpkin beers than we need? I look forward to them all year, I could honestly enjoy them anytime outside of summer. It's like the comfort food of beers for me. Looking forward to many of these, tried the Black Creek already and it ...

I think my tastes have evolved and so I find Mill Street to be fairly tame now. Tankhouse is still a nice pale ale but past that there all just safe, average brews. I by the odd mixer pack they put out and never find my self wanting to purchase a 2nd of any of them :( I think they may be targeting t...

I was surprised by this one last year, and enjoyed it again this year. I have no idea how you guys can compare year on year taste. I knew what to expect this year so I wasn't surprised by it but it is a very nice ale plus the more swing top 750's I can score the better.

Sounds promising, especially the cheaper shipping rates. I have placed a few orders through BP and my only complaint is the shipping fee's. Great news, keep up the good work.

Grand River curmudgeon... uhm not so much?

I have never had Curmudgeon before and was happy to see it at a local LCBO finally. I'm trying it now and well it's not good. I have read some reviews that talk of the malt character and piney hop smells etc. All good IPA type tasting notes. What I'm getting is no hop aroma, some grainy smells is al...

I know one kit doesn't make for a great sampel but I would agree the Festa Brews are quick pitch and go type beer that made a solid product. Once I get a few more fermentors and bottles I would love to stock the shelf with a Festa Brew to keep the pipeline full.

Reviving this a bit just incase anyone finds this in a search. I brewed the Brew house IPA kit first. I used the coppers yeast in a starter for yeast. The kit called for 8 litres of water to top it up. In hindsight, and after research, most recomend adding 2-4 litres instead. I dry hopped with an ou...

I have to agree with Mad Tom being my go to IPA, very consistant over the past 6 months. I did just grab a six of SB and found it ok, not as nice as Mad Tom but between the two I currently default to Muskoka's offering.

Perhaps I'm on to a whole new level of brewing. I will buy hop scented candles. No longer will dry hopping be the end, you will now need to scent infuse your glassware with hops!

The candle had a nice smell like spices and baked goods but it masked the mad tops hop odors.

Scented candles.... No really I'm serious

 I don't know why I'm posting this but thought it was interesting. I have a cupboard where my wife and I keep our wine and beer glasses. We recently placed a scented candle in there for no other reason then to get it out of the way. Fast forward a week and I pick up a 6 pack of Mad Tom ipa, som...

Was pulling for Giants all the way!! Had some Devils Pale Ale, perhaps fitting as most fans around here feel the Giants are akin to him.

Count me in as interested in how to modify the Festa brew kits! I found a link for modifying the Brew House kits which likely would apply to the Festa Brew as well:
