Big M in Potsdam NY?

Heading down to do some camping in that part of the state this weekend, and thought I would stop by and see what they had to bring home? BA reviews say it's probably the best place in the area for getting U.S. craft...

Anyone ever been there? Anything I should particularly look out for?

I have to admit that I often buy those gift packs for myself. And usually for the glass.

Thanks guys, I had heard that I was close to a good place, but didn't know that I could almost walk there...I'm going to wait until I read a bit of "how to brew"...

Is it really that easy to start out with grain and hops and forego the whole pre-hopped extract?

Thanks again, guys.

Canadian Homebrew supplies

So, apparently I live a 5 minute drive from this place... http://homebrew-supplies.ca/viartshop/ Anyone ever dealt with them? For a start-up brew any recommendation of what I should buy in terms of equipment. I thought I'd use festa brew's wort and yeast. There's an "all-in-one" fermenter ...

starting off and wondering if I can play with extracts...

I'm about to brew my first beer with a festa brew porter kit...I'm wondering...is it possible to add anything extra to the extract to make it more interesting, like vanilla bean or even oak chips, and where would I add it, in the boil or in the ferment?

Might have been Koningshoeven. They had a rocky relationship with the Trappist folks, and I think at one point they were "kicked out" because they were using secular workers...

I could be wrong though.

Was also thinking about barley wines too...I have to say I have a real soft spot for Mill Street's but wish they'd get rid of the crock, because 11 dollars ain't worth it...I'll drink it out of the tap from Volo if I need to... Apparently we're getting Monster Ale in the winter, but Bigfoot would be...

If they actually have & come back with the requested bottle 20 minutes later (I tend to stick to the New List just because the huge main list is very hit-and-miss, and I hate sending them on a scavenger hunt 2 or 3 times.) Me too - although, sometimes I pick out three and see what they come bac...

They actually do have a board to the left of the Rhino, but it's just their regular stuff. I think, ultimately, Belgian, you're right...they should do it like at volo...update it everyday early in the day, and cross stuff out when it goes... I actually think what helps volo is numbering the taps on ...

I use a snifter for almost everything, mainly because I cannot find a tulip glass.
If you find a good Dollarama near you, that's where I got a lot of my tulips. For cheaps too!

Re: Publican Square Nail cans

apparently they recently started bottling Square Nail in cans... They must be an absolute bugger to get into  Must keep super fresh too :D  It's funny - I thought about that when I wrote it and decided on "bottling" because "canning" would have assumed they had the be...
