Re: LCBO Autumn, Halloween and Ontario Craft Beers 2018 Release

So the Black Isle we got was “east coast” not Morangie. I mean yeah Glen Morganie is on the east coast but we’re they not able to use their name? Still...yummy beer... Right now though sipping on a Fuller RIS. God. I really don’t think we make anything like this. Maybe that odd time you find Welling...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

^^^ This just comes across as being too lazy to have real convictions. Either you want to support ethical companies or you do not care. This “bring it to my attention or it doesn’t exist” attitude is akin to “ignorance is bliss”. I’m betting your RSVPs are chalk full of unethical companies too, but...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

Wow! Regarding the Founders issue...If you drilled down deep enough, IMO you wouldn’t buy much based on the moral judgment idea. That's kind of a terrible argument. ... doesn't disqualify a consumer from deciding that someone/some company is a big enough jerk that they don't deserve their business....

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

No, Canada gets 12 oz bottles. Prefer the 12oz bottles, especially for high octane beer. However, given the recent employment/equity "issues" Founders have been mired in, think I'll pass on buying any more of their offerings.[/quote] I had to Google what you were referring to and, yeah, t...

Re: LCBO Autumn and Halloween 2018 Release

Nice! That is a lot of Ontario beer. To manage, I plan to concentrate on the Festbiers/Marzens, which I always look forward to once the leaves start to turn. And, of course, GLB and GR Highballer Pumpkin ales, once a year while passing out candy on Oct 31. C'mon pumpkin haters! It's just once a yea...

Re: LCBO Autumn 2018 Release

Is Fullers IRS still bottle conditioned? I hope so. I might be in the minority here, but I do miss those Bottle Conditioned ESBs and such we used to get.

Online Brewery sales

Hey everyone Just wanted to get some opinions on of people use any brewers’ online shops and which ones they like. Still have never ordered right from a brewery. Had an insane pint of Greenwood IPA from left field tonight and was gonna order from them or maybe Merit. Just curious on the experiences ...

Hill Farmstead Arthur

No, not bragging a friend texted me at 8:15 to say the HF stuff was up, but, yeah I got a couple bottles. For those who haven’t tried it in the last, it’s very typical of a tart funky Saison. You’d swear there was oak in there somewhere. Very winey but also dry and crisp. Short finish. Not like the ...

Re: Doug Ford

That’s just it - we all assumed it would be the big guys to play this game. Prime real estate in LC stores and advertising? That sounds totally aimed at small brewers, why would companies who literally own their own points of purchase be tempted by that? I would be surprised if this Loon Lager wasn’...

Re: Doug Ford

What I find interesting is he’s actually (according to the star) artificially lowering the price - he’s going to provide “incentives” (of the tax variety I assume) for those breweries to drop down to a dollar. Not very “free market” of him, as now we’re going to subsidize big breweries so that he ca...
