Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

That Henderson stout is the best beer I’ve had from them. If it becomes a regular, it could fill a niche like the Clifford Porter for a solid, to style local option. Been drinking a few of the Henderson and I gotta say it's one of the best around. Perfect balance of sweet dry and roasty. Had a few ...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Really depends on the location. Most of the good hoods in the city have local joints where conversations are struck up. Other places, not so much. Toronto's definitely not the friendliest city around though, that's for sure. Like in Leslieville, where I live, I've struck up conversations in The Roy...

Re: The Granite

Yep, the Granite...why? Because Gin Lane Ale is out at 9.8 % and only 25 IBUS. And it’s delicous and dangerous. Haven’t had it in a LONg time but I don’t remember it being this excellent. They’ve got lots and they’re selling it in 650ml bottles for 11 all in bucks at the brewery. Thanks for this. I...

Re: Amsterdam Double Tempest Day - Nov 25

And then and then... You can go to the barrel house and order a regular tempest except when they bring it to you it’s a complete bourbon bomb. Delicious. But they will not admit that it’s double tempest in the keg They won’t taste it. Oh no sir you’re wrong - the keg is labeled tempest and we ran ou...

Re: Amsterdam Double Tempest Day - Nov 25

FYI at least at Eskander, and at least at 5:30, they still have some. They said about 20 cases left with the limits lifted.

Re: LCBO Autumn, Halloween and Ontario Craft Beers 2018 Release

So the Black Isle we got was “east coast” not Morangie. I mean yeah Glen Morganie is on the east coast but we’re they not able to use their name? Still...yummy beer... Right now though sipping on a Fuller RIS. God. I really don’t think we make anything like this. Maybe that odd time you find Welling...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

^^^ This just comes across as being too lazy to have real convictions. Either you want to support ethical companies or you do not care. This “bring it to my attention or it doesn’t exist” attitude is akin to “ignorance is bliss”. I’m betting your RSVPs are chalk full of unethical companies too, but...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

Wow! Regarding the Founders issue...If you drilled down deep enough, IMO you wouldn’t buy much based on the moral judgment idea. That's kind of a terrible argument. ... doesn't disqualify a consumer from deciding that someone/some company is a big enough jerk that they don't deserve their business....

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

No, Canada gets 12 oz bottles. Prefer the 12oz bottles, especially for high octane beer. However, given the recent employment/equity "issues" Founders have been mired in, think I'll pass on buying any more of their offerings.[/quote] I had to Google what you were referring to and, yeah, t...

Re: LCBO Autumn and Halloween 2018 Release

Nice! That is a lot of Ontario beer. To manage, I plan to concentrate on the Festbiers/Marzens, which I always look forward to once the leaves start to turn. And, of course, GLB and GR Highballer Pumpkin ales, once a year while passing out candy on Oct 31. C'mon pumpkin haters! It's just once a yea...
