I had this at Thirst and Miserable the other day and was really impressed. Totally agree with Matt on this.

Expensive, mediocre food. Poor atmosphere. Expensive specialty bottles. Poor availability of beer. Never going back.

It really depends on the beer I think. Some beers seem to last 3+ months in the fridge and be fine. I find Founders Centennial lasts like this. Still tastes as good 3 months after LCBO purchase, which was already probably a few months old. It's hard to say for beers you haven't had before. Generally...

Gueuze Glassware

Does anyone know of a place/site that sells unbranded gueuze glasses? (e.g., this minus the logo: http://www.bieresgourmet.be/catalog/ind ... cts_id=508)

Really good. Nice and lemony, tart, but also the rye comes through in a kinda spicy/peppery way. Good stuff.

The Summerhill LCBO has a sampling bar, but I believe each sample costs some amount of money. And only certain products are available for sampling.

The bottles I got of Bring Out Your Dead still have a white label on the back with the bottle date. Not sure about other new-label beers though.

I suspect it's not a rule made by Volo/organizers but a requirement for the liquor licence or from the location.

Well, Bellwoods and Indie are brewpubs with attached retail stores, while Amsterdam is a brewery. I wouldn't be surprised if the laws for each were different.

Given the type of place, I don't think the beers were overpriced for the place. However, I'm unlikely to order bottles there since I could get them for similar or cheaper elsewhere. 6.50 for 12oz of Wizard Wolf seemed like a better deal.

Also, the cocktails are good.

I went last night and had the Wizard. It was similar to the Common, but less citrusy, so either my tastebuds are not remembering correctly and it's the same beer, or it's something different but similar.

Cocktails were good too. And the food looked amazing, though I didn't try any.
