Re: Muskoka Harvest Ale 2012
A popular Muskoka word! Are you the guy keeping verticals of Summer Weisse "Vintages" for a future 'the way beer dies' tasting? ;)
No. But I guess my last post was "written in an obsolete vernacular" ;)

Muskoka Harvest Ale 2012

I think this version is better than the last two years. A much brighter, cleaner and more citrusy/floral hop profile than previous years. Finish is also much cleaner. I think the bitterness is balanced a bit better than previous versions as well; more bready sweetness on the finish. Really nice. Wor...

Fresh Surly Furious

Hi All,

Recently went to Minnesota and picked up some fresh (canned August 14) Surly Furious IPA. Its been fridged for all but my 2 hour flight. I'd be happy to trade for something interesting in the Toronto area.

Also have some Bender and CynicAle if anyone is interested.

This beer is awesome. I tried the Pinot d'Aunis this spring at the brewery. I bought a bottle and they made me open it right there. In terms of fruit beers it is the best I have had, including better than Blabaer Lambic.

Well worth the trip for everyone able to make it.

When I was in the Czech Republic last year we were in a small town looking for Pivovar Matuska http://www.pivovarmatuska.cz/ We never found the brewery but the local sports pub at the soccer pitch sold us two 1.5 litre fruit juice bottles of the beer straight from the taps. He emptied the remaining...

I also got to meet some of the team and they seem like nice guys who are passionate about running a great brewery and building a solid brand. Best of luck to Spearhead, I now think this is a welcome addition to our scene. I agree. Met Dimitri the other night at Volo and I think he and Spearhead wil...

ST IPA
ST 2XIPA

ST IPA + 2XIPA (Half and Half).....this tastes really great. Never mixed beers before (other than black and tans) but I really like this mix. Seems to make up for the shortcomings of both beers.
