I drink this beer on tap at least once a week at Grumpy's in Montreal. I must say this past week's pint was a bit different. The malt bill has always been pale, which to me says American IPA, but the hops were more British tasting; plenty bitter, but more herbal. The most recent keg seemed to have m...

I loved both this and the original Mad Tom, but have to say that I prefer the hop profile in the original. Seems that it was more focused on Centennial, which seems to be my hop of choice (mmmm Bell's Two Hearted).

Brasseurs RJ - Death Valley

Really tasty Belgian IPA. With this and the Belle Gueule Hefeweizen (which uses Weihenstephan yeast) coming out in the past year, I really have to give these guys some credit.

Such a good deal. Really hoping I can make it there in the next few days. This beer ages like a champ.

This is a regular for me on tap when in Ottawa. Glad to hear the bottled version is also tasting good. It reminds me of a slightly paler, maybe slightly more bitter St-Ambroise Pale. As far as I know, Kichesippi is using the Ottawa-only angle as part of its marketing, so it's not likely to show up i...

Oh no! Doesn't sound like a good bottle at all. The only ones I had this year were from a dep in Montreal and they were just like previous years, ie. the spice was relatively prominent and there was no trace of diacetyl.

I tried this on tap at the brewpub in Ottawa and while I enjoyed it a fair bit, I agree that it was more along the lines of a Tripel than a Bière de Garde. I found it too sweet and heavy to fall into the french category. Regardless, it's a tasty and fruity beer with a nice spicy yeast flavour that I...

Great news. One of the only commercial lagers I buy on a regular basis. I really should give their Pils a try again. It's better than it used to be. Pretty sure they increased the hop presence at some point last year. It's pretty solid now. Hope the Keller is in good form this year. That beer can b...

Had this on tap yesterday and it was much better than I remember it being from last year. Maybe freshness was an issue, but last year the hops were muted and boring, this year they were bright and well balanced. Huge improvement. Agreed. I loved this beer the first year it came out but it seemed to...

Not the best St. Paddy's. Had a quick pint of Guinness at Grumpy's (in Montreal) but spent the rest of the day writing code for a Computational Fluid Dynamics project. At least I finally got it working. Celebrating now with some Jameson. Will likely crack a Trois-Pistoles after that. Pee Ess. Grumpy...

Some favourites that haven't been mentioned yet...

Brasseurs Illimités - Imperial Stout
Microbrasserie de l'ile d'Orleans - any
À l'abri de la tempete - Corne de Brume
Brasserie Dunham - IPA Belge

Also, pretty much any Trois Mousquetaires, Charlevoix, or DDC beer that Ontario doesn't have.

Fairly sure this is what Kickoff has. They just call it the 'handpump', and it typically has a keg of Fuller's hooked up. They've always been sure to specify that it is NOT a cask.

Working on a growler of Broadhead Pale Ale. Workin. Haven't tried that one yet. I thought the Wildcard (single hop galaxy) and oatmeal stout were both quite tasty. Sampled the amber at the brewery and it was either off or not good at all. Edit: Was at Grumpy's in Montreal tonight. Shot of Jameson f...

It's hard for me to commend Amsterdam when it's basically impossible for someone outside the GTA to try all their seasonals and one-offs. Likewise, I might vote for Beau's because of their Wild Oat series and amazing Oktoberfest celebration (as well as their commitment to admirable causes like Opera...
