.... McMenamin's has good beers, but some of the venues lack atmosphere -- stuck in a suburb by a big cross-town street, no walk-in traffic, more of an after-work venue, feels like a Gordon Biersch. However the Ram's Head pub just to the NorthWest of downtown is sweet. And it offers a great menu, a...

I've always wanted to check out Oregon. If Portland was close to ski mountains I would probably head out there in the winter, but I don't think there's much around. 45 minutes from Portland to Mt. Hood - ski all summer if you want. Can always check out the Mt. Hood Brew Pub. Drive back via Hood Riv...

I have to say.. if anything happened to Upper Canada brands after Sleeman took over it was only watering down. I distinctly remember the outstanding taste of Upper Canada Lager and Rebellion Lager 7-8 years ago. The ones you can find in stores right now have nothing in common with the old versions....

Aye, but it would hardly be the first time that you find that one company is leasing a building from another company effectively owned (albeit usually more privately) by the same people. True, but I don't believe that is the case here. However, I haven't done any real digging into it either so mayb...

It wouldn't be a battle of wits as your half barely counts.... I just don't get some people's idea of entertainment but if this is the kind of sillyness that floats yer boat, maybe Cass can set up a tread reserved for mindless stupidity. Now I've got to pop open a bottle of Black Oak Saisson which ...

I was speculating on the deep pockets of Ball Brewing Co. Just how much severance did these guys get? No idea. I just heard the rumour, don't know the real details. On a related note, I have been watching one of my neighbourhood watering holes -- the old Growlers premises -- with interest since it ...

Any want to add anything, shoot me down? Herr burgermeister? Hmm, oops, sorry, I wasn't paying attention. :( Conspiracy theories, I haven't a clue. Ball Brewing was started by a few former molson execs with a big severance package (that's what I heard, don't know if it's true). Had their Ball Beer ...
