Re: Beer in Grocery Stores

A friend in the industry expressed it as; "I am only willing to stand in one line-up so grocery wins"

Re: Talk or Action?

My local has two terminals to search "other" products. Both were not working on the weekend. I love the smell of stale beer that eminates from the bag in box that they dump the return cans behind the register. A young girl working there tried to remove the bag which dumped a hellish mixtur...

Re: Post Game Brewing?????

With so many big contract brewers around (Cool, Common Good, Equals, Brunswick, (is Great Lakes still doing contract?), Wellington becomes 'another contract brewer' but with them doing most of Nickel Brooks production now, I think they might be busy.

Re: Batch

what's the goal of having this place, especially at the rent they're paying? molson surely doesn't have any interest on continuously running a money pit with a non-existent business plan in order to promote an ambiguous brand, does it? I am sure the foundation of this location is to "reflect h...

Unlike the wheat which suits the yeast flavour, I think it really diminishes this beer unfortunetly.

Re: What're you drinking right now?

I was in Italy a month ago. "Craft" seems to be perceived as saison's and farmhouse ales.
All unfiltered and since I'm not a saison fan, all uninspiring to me.
Looked for pale ale, saw one reference to an IPA near Canelli but couldn't get my hands on it.

They're famous in Toronto foodie circles for being the place to go in town for a good horse steak. Having been regularly exposed to the Royal which clearly illustrates the relationship between horse flesh and wealth, I have often made the observation that since the demise of the horse as the primar...

Re: Craft Brew Cruise - June 6

Loved every beer boat cruise I have ever been on. Just all around better to enjoy the air and the view while sampling a pint. Warning though. If this boat has top ports that lead to the bar (like the Empire Sandy), I managed to drop straight through and damage my ankle on the floor below. Over the y...

Re: Summerhill Growler/Craft Beer Destination Store

Yeah, my fear is that the LCBO will use the "beer in grocery stores" as an excuse to diminish it's beer line up even before the first bottle hits the shelves in the grocery stores ... And so we finally clearly see big brewery/government coordinated strategy. Makes total sense and is so lo...

Re: Growlers at LCBO

Growler sales will evolve with common sense (hard to say in Ontario). Stainless steel growlers are becoming common. The US outdoor/creative set use them and there are now CO2 dispensing lids which will become better over time as well. The issue though is brewers that won't fill other growlers. Once ...
