Re: LCBO Online Exclusives
Anyone grab any of those De Dolle Oerbier's that popped up online a few days ago? Brought in by Gleemer Imports, and disappeared pretty quickly. I got a few of the normal ones (i.e. not the Reserva). Looking forward to trying these babies out! Anyone had 'em before? http://www.lcbo.com/lcbo/product...

Re: Uncorked-Wine and Spirits Appreciation
Anyone know if Smokehead Scotch will ever return? I bought a bottle once and shared it with my dad and he always mentions how much he loved it. I thought it was decent, but would love to find him a bottle. Might I suggest an Ardbeg, Laphroaig or Bruichladdich's Octomore series. Definitely expensive...

Any idea when tickets go on sale? I'd like to get a pair and will be coming from a bit of a distance away.

Re: LCBO Xmas Release 2017
Yeah forgot about that. The fullers vintage has been sorely lacking in stock around these parts for the last 2-3 years. I don't think I've been able to score one the last two years. Ditto. I haven't seen any FVA around here in at least 4 years anyhow. Although to be fair I don't live in a major met...

Re: LCBO Xmas Release 2017
Sam Smiths Winter WELCOME should be a there somewhere because we've had it since 1994...such a regular so not on the list of new Christmas beers. It has more bite than the pale ale and as a Yorkshireman, is one of my favourites Also notably missing is Fuller's Vintage Ale. That must be coming back,...

Re: Stack Brewing
They do have Stack but it is cream ales etc. Sorry about the description of the brewery location. Second hand info from the wife No problem, if you're ever in the area again I might have a few of the better Sour Series barrel-aged releases for trade, including their take on an Oud Bruin which I thi...

Re: Stack Brewing
It's an interesting case study of what you need to do to make a business work. I have eaten out at a few Sudbury restaurants and none of them carry any of the Stack beer I reviewed. It was all cream ales and other beers that don't taste like much. Not sure how big of a program they have for more in...

Re: Stack Brewing
All I've tried was an Alt from lcbo, that was pretty damn bad. Maybe I'll give something else a shot As a local Sudburian, I have to say their core releases are pretty middling but they do have a small barrel program for their sour series and these range from meh to pretty great. Also their sour IP...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
Quite an amazing beer really. One of the few beers that is great both fresh and aged. Are there others in that category? Saison Dupont? Unless the bottle skunks after a period in storage. And I'm also really enjoying this fresh Orval. I agree it is one of those rare Fresh(er) ≥ Aged beers that you ...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
I believe the dating format for Orval is Day/Month/Year, making these bottles a bit over 5 months old.GtownRandy wrote:i picked up 12 orval today in georgetown. they are pre-aged for us, bottled april 2016!
