Re: Leslieville Beer Fest - Aug 27, 2016

I've found out it's organized by a real estate agency. Pretty much tells you all you need to know. A beer festival being run by a real estate agency is just sooo Leslieville. Every day I get at least 3 or 4 garbage real estate fliers in my mailbox.

Re: Beer Coming to Grocery Stores?

alcohol content will be capped at 7.1% ABV

WTF. Who picked this random number? The nanny state never ceases to amaze. Are they going to cap the ABV of wine as well?

I was there on Saturday afternoon around 3pm for my first visit. I was impressed by the space and the food was decent enough - but was very dissapointed by the beer offerings. Only core lineup was available - not one of the "adventure brews" were available. All in all pretty disapointing. ...

Yep, it was a bad response. I thought Liam's response was well thought out and explained his thoughts without being overly harsh or critical. I'd say the breweries response is "exhibit A" in the discussion that occurred in another thread (cannot recall which one) which wondered by more bre...

While we're all complaining does anyone understand why this is so expensive? NIAGARA OAST HOUSE BREWERS SAISON LCBO 359877 | 750 mL bottle Price $ 11.20 To be fair I've never had this beer so I don't know if this is a straight up Saison (ala Dupont) or if it's something more funky but $11.20 for 750...

perhaps, but they even copied the font sizes between the large S and the rest of the word. A couple years back there was some small cafe in small town U.S. that totally ripped off the steamwhistle logo so kind of behavior isn't unheard of. I suspect the lazy designer of the website in question just ...

I found this humorous. This website has clearly ripped off the Stone logo/font.

Yep, sorry about that. My saison finished around 1.004 - nice and dry. Overall I'm really happy with the yeast - peppery/spicy finish. Will be using it again for sure.

Toronto’s MB Bottle Brew simplifies brewing craft beer

http://www.starbusinessclub.ca/sales/torontos-mb-bottle-brew-simplifies-brewing-craft-beer-but-demand-outstrips-production-capacity/ This just sounds gross. Ready to drink in 10 days and carbonated? They must really enjoy the taste of Acetaldehyde. Also not sure how this qualifies as "craft&quo...

brewed up a saison Wednesday night with this yeast. Re-hydrated and saw visible signs of fermentation within 12 hrs. This morning found a nice amount of krauzen in the airlock so installed a blow off tube. It's chugging away nicely at 20/21 Celsius. Impressed so far with it, we'll see where it ends ...
