Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

Woo, blast from the past thread. Email notification reminded me I haven't been here in a while. I suspect the RB numbers are heavily influenced by whether or not the beer makes it beyond Ontario. Quite a few of those just aren't quite as good once they've travelled a bit. I see the same effect with...

Tried the Keith's Harvest tonight. I can't even give it a "pretty good for Keith's" rating. This is Keith's plus enough brewer's caramel to put it between the Red Amber and the Dark. Either that or a blend of those two. Without even trying it I put Moosehead's Cask Ale ahead of this attemp...

Is this out in Nova Scotia? My brother is down in Cape Breton for the nest week and I told him to look out for it. Showing up in a few stores now. Haven't seen any myself, but the listings here show it in a few Cape Breton stores: http://www.mynslc.com/Products/PID-1012385 Given the volumes they're...

Going to be available "across Canada" according to the release. No way this is brewed at the old brewery.

'Tis indeed. And it's being followed up with a collaboration Wet Hopped brew from Propeller and Sea Level, plus at least 2 wet hopped beers at Hart and Thistle.

But no mention of its policy positions, or any indication that it has any other role to play in the sector. So do policy goals and objectives get discussed behind closed-doors? I don't have the answer, but they've received millions of dollars from the government and it's tough to bite the hand that...

BTW how is the situation with beer in Halifax? Do you have independantly owned stores or do you have to rely on a single entity like the LCBO? We have 4 independent private stores. They were an experiment launched 7 or 8 years ago. The original intention was that they'd be specialty shops focussed ...

I pulled out one of these that I have been keeping since last year (in a cool, dry box) and it had about a centimeter of fluffy grey crud growing on the bottom. The taste wasn't offensively off, but it definitely had a sour note to it. I've had similar problems with the Rum Cask. Interestingly, I'v...

Did Unibroue stop being craft beer when it sold to Sleeman? Or if not then, when Sapporo bought them both? yes absolutely. based on the US sales of Unibroue, Sapporo has to be loving the fact that Sleeman bought them before they grabbed the whole kitty. But how does that make them "not craft&q...
