Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

Art and Mystery of Brewing in Ontario

I can't seem to find my copy of Art and Mystery of Brewing in Ontario. I remember there being a small paragraph on the St. Lawrence Breweries Ltd. that was in operation in 1908 in my hometown of Cornwall. Does anyone have a copy of this book and could scan me a copy of this page?

Cheers,

Can't wait to try this. I hope it's in full production when I get back to school this winter. Plus Kickoff's in Waterloo was good about getting Hoptical on tap before it was in bottles, hopefully they can grab this one too! Yes, please let us know if this finds it's way to Kickoff..come on it's the...

I tried their "light" at the KW beer fest and I got a very weird flavour in the finish that could be interpreted as smokey. Whatever it was it was not pleasant and likely not intentional. After having a good experience with this brewery initially with a fresh growler of their Blonde which...

Sad to see another beefest go down, but scheduling it the same weekend as the Kitchener Ribfest & Craft Beer Show never made sense to me. There are only so many breweries to go around in this area and they therefore had to make a decision which they would attend. So is this definitely canceled? ...

I didn't even notice that, I guess I just assumed they were there and never thought twice about it. I wonder why?

Downtown Kitchener Ribfest & Craft Beer Show

I just heard some info on this year’s Downtown Kitchener Ribfest & Craft Beer Show . It’s set for July 17-19 and will be held at Victory Park in downtown Kitchener. I think this is such a perfect location for beer, BBQ and live music. Most of the students are gone which means less drunken frat b...

I thought passports were only required if you are flying?

Personally, if not for bottle returns, Trois Pistoles, Weihenstephaner Hefeweizen, True North (I noticed that TBS now carries their full line, including Wunder Weiss) and Wellington Iron Duke, I would have no reason to go there either. And the cheaper 24's of Tankhouse. Well at least they were chea...

When I picked up my case yesterday, I noticed in the fridge that all the bottles had new streamlined labels. All very similar to each other. Got word from Bob that the new look labels are in preparation for the LCBO. He still does not know which will be accepted. I much prefer the old school look of...

Flying with Beer

So I’m heading to Houston next week to visit a friend who is also a beer geek. My plan was originally to ship him beer and then ship myself some beer back when I was down there. I have a really nice 12 bottle Styrofoam shipper to use, but I was wondering if I could just bring it with me on the plane...

I was in Cornwall over the holidays and had many but did not bring any back this time. Had plans to go to the Brewery but the weather ended up being nasty.

Grand River - The Dial A Beer Guys

Just to add to my info in the other thread, I’ve also spoken to Rob about their availability in the LCBO. They’ve been given clearance for the Galt Knife, the Plowmans and their seasonals. The catch is that they may not ever make it to the shelves. GR is flirting with the idea of delivering beer to ...

Just an FYI, I was speaking to Rob at the Castle on Friday night about a few things. With all the recent discussions with the DFH & ST skyrocketing prices, there seems to be some hope that GR’s IPA may be our hop savior. Based on GRs record, they will no doubt produce a fantastic beer, but it wi...
