Just back from the Queer Beer Fest, and must say that there were no crowds at all! Flying Monkeys has gone overboard with there fruit beers this year...Mango Tango, Georgia Peach, Orange, Citrus, Strawberry, Grape Ape, and I'm sure there are one or two more that I missed. Unfortunately Great Lakes h...

Been to the TFB in previous years but have a question about a related event. Is there any difference between the TFB and the Queer Beer Festival, other than the obvious one? Have a friend going to his first beer festival at the QFB but can't advise him on what to expect unless it's pretty much a dup...

Re: Toronto Festival of Beer - Aug 4th-7th

It'll be quite interesting to see if there's enough interest in the LGBT community to support such a large beer event. And if the macrobrewers will replace the usual female servers in tight t-shirts with boys in tight shorts.

Isn't that assuming that only men will be attending the festival??

Town Crier Pub

The Town Crier Pub is opened last night at the premises of the now defunct Fat Belgian on John St. They have 50+ taps and all but a handful are European. Seems like a nice drinking venue and hopefully they will be there for some time.

This was the fourth year in a row I had been to the brewfest, and unless there are drastic changes, probably my last. I must have been around ten people behind Bobsy, and got in to the event just after it opened. I managed to try all the IPA's in the event before it started to crowd up. After the cr...

Is anyone else in Buffalo today for this event? Came in yesterday to hit some places I haven't been to before and some old friends I always like to visit. I tried the Pearl Street Grill for the first time and I must use an old Shakespearean title for this place, much ado about nothing. I don't know ...

I don't know if this has now become the standard, or just a one off, but when I picked up a 6 today of ST IPA at the Spadina LCBO I didn't see one paper strip on any of the bottles in the 6-packs! Does this mean that they now have faith in the original packaging, and are making a little bit more pro...

A couple of months back I was throwing a tasting party and picked up a variety of the new seasonals at the Cooper St LCBO. As I was checking out the clerk said he was about to run a beer tasting through the store and wanted to know the difference between ales and lagers, as he wasn't aware what the ...

I called the LCBO info line on Tuesday, and the person I spoke with said that it might still be a couple of weeks before it hits the shelves. Said there were labelling issues on ST's end that had to be rectified before it could go out.

Heard there is a new place to check out as well, within 10 minutes of PG that carries some other stuff. I've heard of the new store. It's the Village Beer Merchant, at 547 Elmwood Ave. Haven't been there myself, they only opened in January, but they claim to have the best beer selection in Buffalo ...

The anniversary ale is a nice nutty brown ale , their "175th Anniversary Brown Ale". It's only scheduled for a limited run to commemorate the distillery's founding. They had it on tap last Friday, and I just had to pick it up in the store.
