Vancouver Craft Beer Week just wrapped up another successful year. Here's a brief article about one of the final events. Note that just about all the breweries mentioned are brand new and have only opened or started brewing in the past 18 months. That's how rapidly the landscape is changing out here...

Hey friends! Been a long time since I posted but wanted to pass this along from sunny Vancouver. As you likely know Vancouver has long been a great place to buy bottled beer due to a very liberal import policy and a lot of private store distribution. There's also a healthy beer bar scene here. But w...

Lucky you guys. In BC the game is on at 4am and even though some bars have gotten permission to open they will not be serving any alcohol. Not that I'd need to drink at 4am to watch a game but the option to have a celebratory one would have been nice!

The price for the 12 and the 8 was roughly $15-17 each depending on retailer. We are getting inventory of the gift packs in B.C. but not until mid 2012 (so I'm told) and the price floated here was between $60-70.

Multiple threads on Vancouver already exist...but...check here; http://camravancouver.ca/ Click on "Guide" menu and a pulldown will give you info on pubs and bottle shops. Alibi, St.Augustine's are the best, London Pub, The Whip, Railway Club and Malone's are all the places to hit on cask ...

I think the general quality and number of locally brewed and bottled IPA's in B.C. is great compared to Ontario. I also think that has a lot to do with the much larger number of quality U.S. examples available at retail which drives the locals to raise the bar in order to compete. Last I checked the...

The man is shameless and likely a narcissist. Even his cooking ads rub me the wrong way. Doesn't anyone who works with him have the balls to say; "Hey Frank, you're not a celebrity and your reputation and smarmy self importance actually hurt the brands you are allegedly promoting. Maybe you sho...

Busy or not IMHO it's a restaurant's right to give preference to customers as they see fit without hiding it in order to cater to the egos of infrequent patrons. I don't think that anyone here needs the repeated clarification of your experience. It clearly pissed you and your girlfriend off enough t...

You are entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to disagree. If I miss characterized your original post or took your comments out of context then I apologize...however I do still take issue with your underlying point that these larger pours or samples were not handed out discreetly enough for your...

Sorry, I don't see the issue...for a number of reasons. 1) Who exactly is this clique of whom you speak? You are aware that these events, at Volo and other establishments, usually involve special guests. I believe some of the guests were from DDC, others were media, other brewers and restauranters e...

That list is half legitimate and half boneheaded. Whoever can put Peche Mortel between Molson 67 and Maximum Ice is frankly taste impaired. I don't care how hipster some beers might be they don't belong in an ultimate 24.

I would love if you guys made it an annual activity. If there are other brewers in the community who want to partake that would be great too. I feel like I helped get the ball rolling, now I'd love to see all of you keep the momentum.

It appears Jeremy has posted a review of it on RB...but the draft version which was a blend of the two bottlings made with different yeasts. Would love to hear from someone who had both and how they stack up.
