If it makes you guys feel any better, A-B-InBev is going to expand exportation and distribution of Kokanee to the US (to replace the Labatt brand the US regulators made them give up here as part of the merger deal) AND they are going to brew and market some Alexander Keith branded beers domestically...

On a commercial level, it's referred to as "Kräusening" (sometimes also spelled "Kraeusening" or "krauzening") - adding a small portion of early stage fermenting beer to fermented lagering beer in a closed tank. In the US, the process has long been used for Budweiser (a...

I must admit that I had no idea that 50 was an ale. Speaking of which, when did Molson Golden become a lager? Back in the pre-craft days, as a US import, it was marketed as an ale and, IIRC, it was always a bigger seller in the US than the " Export Ale " (red label) or the " Molson C...

Re: What happened to Sam Adams Boston Lager

Has anyone tried Sam Adams BL lately? It appears to have changed significanctly. Far lighter in colour. Similar flavour profile, but muted. Certainly less bitterness. Everyone talks about Fritz Maytag like he was the second comming... and although he did revive an old brewery, he really just kept doing what they always did. Maytag bought a name and a hopelessly obsolete brewery. With the name came the "concept" of a unique beer style. Anchor was the la...

I realize Bass ( once the world's oldest trademark) is the intellectual property of Coors now...but it is still brewed in Burton on Trent by Marstons...I JUST WANT SOME BASS OK? I wonder if the Coors ownership of brand has anything to do with Bass getting into Canada? Coors bought the Bass b...

Adolph Coors Company is the only family-owned brewery in the United States that was able to survive the late 20th-century consolidation of the American beer industry without relinquishing family control. Hmmm... while there are only about 20 or so breweries left in the US of the 600-700 that re-ope...

Anyone know why Blue Moon hasn't been marketed up here by Molson-Coors? It is - it's just called Rickard's White. And, last I heard (can't say I bother to look at the labels when I'm beer shopping) all/most of the Blue Moon sold in the US now is being brewed in Canada. I guess they have excess capa...
