Yes, I definitely agree with the silky smoothness description. Nice aroma, too.

So, I shouldn't go pick up the bottles? Is this one like the Gritstone where the bottles aren't as good as the tap--are the Stratford bottles and the Bohemian tap not the same beer?

Stratford Bohemian

[Couldn't find this beer reviewed here yet. Search function was unfunctioning.] I don't consider myself fully qualified to write a proper review of this beer, but I know what I like. I've normally turned down Pilseners and aimed for the ales and darker lagers in the past and now I know how limiting ...

I did find some in bottles, but it was a bit dodgy--the caps were somewhat corroded. I stuck mostly to the cans of Carib and kept them on ice, as I can't stress enough how bad that stuff is if it isn't nearly frozen.

Caribbean Beers, Whoa!

I just flew back from Jamaica (and boy are my arms...) where I spent a week soaking up the sun and drinking such fine brews as Red Stripe, Red Stripe Light--on tap no less [or bubbly, yellow water as I called it], Carib--from the can [when ice-cold was quite refreshing in that heat], and the "p...

Re: Beer Fridge

I know this isn't the answer you're looking for, but ... ... walk up the damn stairs when you want a beer. Reduce your emissions, yo. -Josh Yeah, I did mention that it was two flights right? Besides, my kitchen fridge is a not-so-large, high efficiency model. When it's full of food, there narry roo...

Thanks for all the info, but my wife doesn't like the black colour or the faux stainless steel. She asked me if I could find a mini-fridge with a 1950s retro look. You should've said something. I could've given you a real 50s fridge. :) Of course it was loud, an energy hog, and too big, but it defi...

Beer Fridge

This may seem like a silly question, but does anyone have a recommendation for a beer fridge? My TV room is two floors away from my kitchen and my wife suggested I get a beer fridge (yeah, it was my wife's idea). I have been shopping around, but those mini-fridges just don't seem to hold a lot and I...

I do like the 8-pack the LCBO offers Do you mean the brown cardboard container that we have to put together at the LCBO? I hate the eight. I much preferred the six since it easily fits within the LCBO plastic bag for easier carrying. I don't trust those to hold 8 x 500ml beers, and the opennings ar...

It would be really interesting to see how the actual sales of this discovery pack influence sales for the breweries represented in the pack. Might eliminate all this endless speculation on marketing tactics..... I would say that I am of the target market as I am relatively new at this OCB st...
