Re: What're you drinking right now?
Just opened an Achel 8 Bruin bought long ago at the LCBO. The date stamp is 06/11/15, not sure if that's bottle or best before, but it's a nice treat. Tasting much better than the Rochefort of similar vintage.

Re: Breweries closing and/or restructuring and/or bought out
Skeleton Park is definitely smaller and with worse offerings, than the other two. Seems like Spearhead owners were happy to pull the chute and take a soft landing with a potential recession looming, while Skeleton were looking to double down on their shrinking market. The fact that the tripled down ...

Kingston Brewing Company
I can't believe KBC doesn't already have a thread, besides being the best beer bar in Kingston, and producing some pretty good beer themselves, they have now taken over the building next door and are opening a new bottle shop. The shop is open for merchandise but still waiting on paperwork for the b...

Re: Fine Balance
Hey all, Just seeing this now. Fine Balance is good at what they do, hazy IPA's and fruity sours. They opened during covid, and are located in the East end not far from the 401. The owner is a good guy and personally did local deliveries during the pandemic so I've met him a few times. Their brewery...

Re: Canadian Brewing Awards & Conference 2023
Seems the do delivery, so I guess I'll give them a shot based on win gold in probably the most contested beer category.

All My Friends - Bloomfield
Right near Matron in Bloomfield (yes, everything in Bloomfield is close to one another). A nice stop for hop heads in Prince Edward County. Also does delivery at $10 a case. Maybe not quite on par with Blood Bros or Badlands, but decent for sure.

Re: Best canned "lawnmower" beer?
Kingston Brewing Company make a light beer called Yardwork. A hoppy blonde ale, it's perfect IMO. Not sure how available it is outside of Kingston though.

Re: beer (alcohol) and health
The news is all "increased chance" or "X number times more likely". Yes, I know alcohol is not good for me, but don't tell me I'm 5 times more likely to get cancers that I had like next 0 chance of getting without. Really, I'm more concerned by my sugar intake more than the alcoh...
