Re: What's Your Favourite Ontario West Coast IPA?

I recently got a variety pack from Stockyards, which I don't often see at the LCBO. It had one IPA called Iron Horse Trail that I felt had a distinctly West Coast vibe, and I thought it was really tasty!

Re: What're you drinking right now?

I'm only drinking NA beers for 100 days, lol. Had Chester from Bazaar recently, an NA Berliner weisse with black currants. It was quite good! Grabbed the new Swoon stout from Burdock, and picked up Nickel Brooks NA beer to try soon. Bazaar is pretty great. Gimmicky dessert beers are the future of N...

Re: Slake

I've been seeing these guys more and more at LCBOs. Had one of their high-end bottles and it was quite nice. Previously, they only offered $10 shipping, so I never ordered. They now offer free shipping from $100 province-wide. Nice. I'm a fan of their stuff! Lots of great breweries in PEC to pick f...

Re: Sparrow brewing

I did a brewery-hop last December and attempted to hit everything in Cambridge, so Sparrow was definitely on my list. I was pretty psyched to try them, as they consistently top the Untappd charts for Ontario breweries. While I liked their signature brown ale, I found everything else pretty average. ...

Re: Non-Alcoholic Beer

I've seen N/A beer at an increasing number of quick-service places and boutique stores. But one reason I don't usually buy them when I'm out and about (or say, getting lunch at the office) is because I don't want people thinking I'm drinking the real deal! Also, I find it needs to be poured into pro...

Re: Recruiting back to the Bar Towel

Newsletter time! I'm not sure in all the years if I ever did a digest style drop about some of the threads. I'll do it from time to time and see if any new (old) folks drop by. For the regulars, any feedback welcomed. https://share.sender.net/campaigns/6WNT/this-week-at-the-bar-towel- Wow, had no i...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

I just did a brewery crawl in the east end of Toronto. I started at Eastbound brewery, and I had a glass of their Hefeweizen. Sorry I can't remember the actual name of the beer,. However it was very tasty and well made to style. Highly recommended. Next we went to Saulter Street Brewery, where I ha...

Re: Non-Alcoholic Beer

Just grabbed a four pack of Guinness 0. I have to say I’m quite impressed. The taste is very very similar to the regular version. I don’t get that “metallic” finish I get in all other NA beers, and it’s overall very satisfying. I’d say the body is a touch thinner than the normal Guinness and it’s a...

Re: Ben Johnson's Beer & Bullshit Podcast

Looking forward to giving it a listen! I love that podcast, although I discovered it pretty late in the game. Listening to older episodes during the height of the pandemic really made the ol' nostalgia tingle.

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Enjoying Great Lakes current 7 Barrel Series Flight HBC 1019. A very nice bright and refreshing take on NEIPA. I have found too many beers in this style to just be acrid. This one is good and clean. Well done! Yeah, this one had huge tropical notes — coconut and pineapple up the proverbial wazoo. W...

I visited last summer, very family-friendly venue with different food and drink stations. Beer wasn't bad at all...nothing spectacular, nothing terrible.

Re: Barncat Artisan Ales, Cambridge

Damn. There are like a dozen breweries in Cambridge, so I'm not surprised it's tough to compete out there. But why did it have to be Reverence and Barncat?
