Re: Bellwoods Brewery
was in my old neighborhood tonight for a whisky tasting at The Caledonian. Decided to walk down Ossington to burn some calories and pick up some overpriced beer, 'cause that's what geeks do: 1 Witchshark 1 Hellwoods 2 Roman Candle 25 bucks and change ... Bellwoods: "the Ardbeg of beer" (d...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
I thought it was excellent. Don't see anyone having to return it. yeah,i thought it was fine. I'll chime in and say the DDC Aphrodite I drank last night tasted great too.[/quote] Sounds good. I've had Aphro's nearly a year old in the past without a major issue. Guess I got caught up in the negativi...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
Grabbed some Aphrodite today. Yeah, not thrilled about the date. But I've always loved it. Keeping my receipt should I find it too unpleasant. But I REALLLLLLLY love it when an LCBO employee makes comments about the price of beer compared to what it was like in their day. Oh yeah, such an impressed ...

Re: Removing Painted on Labels
Some of these labels are applied with a ceramic paint that is melted to the glass and can't be removed. Yep, you ain't getting this paint off. I happen to work for a company who has decorated bottles supplied by a company near Montreal that does the Rogue bottles and a tonne of Quebec craft brewers...

Yep. No idea on size of bottles or price so I'll hold my breath for now. But the fact that ANYTHING is here is a good sign of things to come.

Re: Bellwoods Brewery
Wait, wat? $35 bottles? Ouch. Maybe not for a JK standard.... but I appreciate the fact that someone is getting it into the country. That deserves a pat on the back. Consider going on Sunday, they do half price on select large bottles and I know they've done it for some Jester King bottles before. ...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery
I guess I'd rather talk to my company versus staring at the back of someone's head waiting to place an order, or have to interrupt the bar staff's convo between themselves to buy my beer while my company sits twiddling their thumbs awaiting my return. It all depends on what humans you prefer to int...

Very limited. 1 bottle of either, not both.
Who knows how often they will get them.

Re: Toronto Brewery District
Figured Jordan would come in at some point and drop the knowledge. Antiquated precedents more often impede the progress of craft/indie beer.

Re: Detroit
Just posted about winning Fou on their facebook. Ferndale location only. Sadly. The Ferndale shop and the Detroit shop are in different counties and have some different distributors for certain things. Its entirely possible that no Cantillon is available in Wayne County. But I will inquire out of c...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery
I'm not one of the spaceship residents in Wall-E. my legs work and i can get off my ass, walk the 20-30 steps, wait for 30-60 seconds and place an order. in that time, i have a conversation with the bar staff, who are friendly and recognize me. I can sample some beer on tap and make my decision on ...

Question: what service? Don't you have to interrupt your convo to fetch beer at the bar yourself or did they change that now?skootles wrote:Yep, different strokes for different folks. I've always gotten pretty good service there and the location is great for me but really just because I live nearby.
