Re: Uncorked-Wine and Spirits Appreciation

Those could be futures that were abandoned? Like you pay a deposit, then you have to come collect your bottles in a couple of years and pay the rest. Some number will surely go unclaimed.

I hope they use a bunch of those coat hooks under the bar or something.

Re: Uncorked-Wine and Spirits Appreciation

I've been on a mixed drinks kick lately and I just want to give a shout out to Dillon's vermouth. I bought it on a whim, and it's nice! It's not really a thing I ever thought to get a craft or new world version of. Dillon's in general have generally impressed me. I like their rose gin and their bitt...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

I thought you needed a distillery license to make beers over 11.9%, in addition to the added cost? I wonder if they have one, or they're just skirting the silly law? Or probably more likely I'm mistaken?

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

I picked up Orval, bottled late Sept 2020. Pretty fresh! Also FYI LCBO has stopped taking any returns during lockdown. I had planned to return some rather stale beer xmas gifts but was told by the clerk to to hold on to them until lockdown ends... could be a while. I see that Orval has been listed ...

Haven't they had the Prairie stouts for ages? I feel like I ordered a bunch a few months ago.

We've had Zhukov before. Glad to have it back.

Badlands Evolve Or Die. This is such an outstanding beer. So many hops went in this can.

Re: 2020-2021 Winter Season at the LCBO

I thought they did away with that ABV rule a while ago? I vaguely remember something about that. I've never seen BCBS sitting around at 9 bucks either. The last time I saw some on shelves it was $18 US, but I think they've ramped up production since then. I've never seen the variants just sitting ar...

I suspect "they" sell out very quickly in the US too. They being GI, that is. It definitely sits on store shelves for a while.

Re: General LCBO Debate & Discussion Thread

The LCBO is by far the worst place I've been in for people ignoring the directions on the aisles. No clue why. I went once at a busy time and it made me uncomfortable, so now I just go when I think it will be slow and it works fine.

Ha, I had that in my hands on Monday and decided not to get it because of the canning date.

Re: What're you drinking right now?

I haven't managed to keep a vintage ale longer than a year in a while. I did a three year vertical way back when and didn't find much benefit to the aging, so there isn't much incentive for me. I hope this year's is better than Jase's experience. It's such a great style and not one we get that often...

Re: lcboapi.com and drinkvine.com

Every now and then I'll pop on the LCBO site to check what online exclusives there are. My biggest gripe is there's no way to just see all the beer. You either have to filter it down at least one level (ie ale or lager) or you get all the beer and all the Sake for some reason.
