Re: Breweries closing and/or restructuring and/or bought out

I'm surprised you guys haven't heard of Cassel. They were one of the first in the wave of craft breweries in the Ottawa area after Beau's. I don't think they had huge distribution outside of that area, but they have been in the LCBO a few times, been in festivals, done some collabs with other brewer...

Re: Jasper, AB and Revelstoke, BC

Jasper Brewing has been there for quite a while now, sister brewery to Banff Brewing. Looking at their website, it seems they have locations in Edmonton and Calgary too. It's been aaaaaaaages since I was there (Banff, not Jasper), but I came away thinking of them as kinda like a 3Brasseurs sort of p...

Re: Lot 41 - Delta Marriott Pearson Airport

The place closest to my work, The Shakespeare Arms, was one of those places pretty much forever. They just recently got a single rotating tap of craft, which seems like it's ending up just alternating Great Lakes IPAs. Such a nice change.

We haven't seen To Ol in a while, have we? I hope this is a sign they're going to bring back their bigger beers.

Re: Breweries closing and/or restructuring and/or bought out

A couple years back, they kept the Highlander branding on their flagship beers, but changed the name of the brewery. https://ridgerockbrewco.ca/blogs/industry-craft-beer-news/highlander-brew-co-rebranding-as-south-river-brewing Seems like they left the old branding website and social media up too, b...

Re: Breweries closing and/or restructuring and/or bought out

I mean, it's also pretty impressive to run a brewery at 80.

If you're wondering who this brewery is, they used to be known as Highlander.

It's a shame that this seems to be happening to a lot of my favourite places. Revel, Matron, Barncat all struggling is disheartening.

I bet people are drinking it, but not in quantities that merit space on variety store shelves.

Oh, they had the Greener Futures thing too, which was a membership subscription for some beer if I remember right.
