Re: Cowbell Brewing

Hey Guys, here's a pic I took yesterday on sight to you can see our progress so far on the building. Beams started going up last week, and will take another 3 weeks or so to complete. The weather has been amazing, so our crew is making great progress. More to come ;) http://definitionale.com/wp-cont...

Thanks Craig - I've been thinking about that Ramos Pinto - some Vintages guys have said very nice things about it. I think its a good plan B. Still hoping for a Spirit or beer. The Dom.... Mayyyybe a bit pricey. haha And good call on the Ola Dubh - didn't even think of that, and I have one in my cel...

I'm putting out a longshot... But I didn't have the foresight when I was born to start stocking bottles from my birth year. Does anyone have, or know of, a bottle of beer, wine, port, or spirit that was either bottled in, or produced in 1985 that is unopened and potentially still delicious they'd be...

Quad, BDSA, ABT... Its all the same delicious dark fruit to me :D Sadly, enjoying these vintage Quads has been more variable than I'd like. I hope to attribute at least some of this to improper storage - as many of the bottles I've been privy to enjoying came from a bar, trade, or friend. Thankfully...

Sure, some may be Belgian Dark Strong Ales... But now we're just splitting hairs. Depending which book you subscribe to, the difference between Quad and BDSA is either non-existent or negligible in my opinion. So we easily piled them all together. I would have loved to add a Trois Pistoles in there ...

I participated in a blind of 14 quads over half a day with 4 people in late 2011. Pretty amazing time. Hard to go wrong with such a delicious style. Anyways, here were our results: http://definitionale.com/epic-blind-tasting-of-14-belgian-or-belgian-style-quadrupels/ and http://definitionale.com/epi...

I put these up earlier this year when I moved, and love them. They are Billy Bookcases from Ikea, with the height extensions. Very tight, very clean, and you can secure them into the walls, so they are immensely sturdy. Not the least expensive option, but they present very well, and I am certainly n...

Haven't been yet – but it's downtown and looks good: http://www.redhousekingston.com/ Red House is good... if you're up further on Princess Street you could pop into The Alibi, decent selection of craft there. Not much in Kingston... but slowly getting better. http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Alib...

I'm mostly trying to get a handle on how to use the honey, and if I should be aware of any yeast or fermentation issues. This is all very helpful so far. Thanks all!
