Re: What're you drinking right now?
What did you think of the D&S beers in general? I haven't been, but a couple friends who are not particularly picky attended the opening and had bad things to say about their beers. I was hoping it was just some issues with rushing to open. The beers are straight up awful, and out of the hundre...

Powerhouse beer is certainly showing up occasionally, I haven't visited the actual brewery yet though.

How is delivery handled for these? ie) Someone over 19 has to sign (yes?) so do they deliver in the evening, or leave it at the post office?

Re: Forest City Beer Fest
It's nice that he's been able to grow attendance, I guess it hasn't hurt him much that he's done it the same weekend as the Roundhouse Beerfest the past two years. That's why I missed the Forest City Beerfest last year, and why I'm missing it this year. I think other than Powerhouse, all the same br...

Since people were talking about it earlier, I thought I'd mention Forked River has Trinity back in stock. You can order it online if you're not in London, I have no idea what the shipping charges are like.

Re: London, Ontario and Area
There is a new running store with craft beer tap room. I haven't been, a friend of mine was at their opening. They also are starting their own hop yard to sell to local breweries. Re: "Peak" Craft Beer?
I hope all the new breweries succeed, but history and logic says they won't. Yeah, I feel bad for those guys who sold everything to open that new brewery if the gist is correct and they're going to open in a saturated market. It would also go poorly for this company who's slated to open here in Lon...

That's a good point. Extra tax could be why they were losing money on it if I recall correctly from another thread.beerstodiscover wrote:Last year's Kentucky Bastard was 14.5% and countless other examples. There is some regulatory hoop to jump through and possibly tax implications.

Ontarded. That's a federal law Napalm Frog quoted, see the website. For imports, my guess is: other countries probably define beer differently, and the LCBO can certainly import liquors (ie "beer" that is above 11.9%) and put them in whatever section they like. Jeff, Beer Advocate, Ratebe...

Re: Cask Days 2017
I'm going for the first time this year, my plan was to just show up and see what I can get my hands on, I've barely paid attention to the brewery list. I'm guessing since my expectations are low, I won't be disappointed. I also don't really know what to expect. During a night of drinking Drunk ErkLR...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
I decided to wander around a local TBS after returning some empties and was surprised to find cans of Murphy's Irish Stout http://www.thebeerstore.ca/beers/murphys-irish-stout It't fairly similar to Guinness and so I think most here won't be wowed by it, but I have pleasant memories of drinking it i...
