Infected Not Your Father's Root Beer

While I realize I run the risk of being laughed off of BarTowel by starting a NYFRB thread, I just couldn't help but wonder whether anyone else has encountered infected bottles from this Small Town Brewery offering, now available at The Beer Store? As my wife likes her alcohol sickeningly sweet and ...

Will be there Saturday! Last year was my first time going. What an awesome event.

ISO: Lou Pepe Framboise FT: Vigneronne (or others)

Looking to swap Vigneronne for LPF!

If you've got LPF, but aren't interested in the Vig, let me know nonetheless! I may still have something that interests you - Kuhnhenn BB4D, Kuhnhenn BBBW, FW Parabola, Funky Buddha Last Snow & MBCP, New Glarus Wisconsin Belgian Red, etc.

Cheers!

Mike

Re: Bellwoods Bounty Hunter

When I first had Bounty Hunter in May of 2014, I seriously struggled to detect any coconut.

When I tried it again in March of 2015, it was impossible to miss.

Both times, it was delicious.

Whether it was me or the beer that changed between those two tastings, I do not know.

If he doesn't mind paying bar prices you can get a lot of different Cantillon bottles at either Moeder Lambic locations - http://www.moederlambic.com/ . I prefer the original location than the other but both are decent and have a good bottle list. I'd recommend the original location. I managed to t...

Hey guys, Coming from a bit of a different angle here. My cousin is in Brussels for 3 days, starting this morning, April 21/15 (in between Paris and Amsterdam). He isn't a beer geek (at least not yet), but he does appreciate good beer and he told me he'd love to bring back some beer for sharing (whi...

FT: Funky Buddha MBCP, Last Snow; Abraxas; Anchorage ADWTD..

I'm located in the deep southwest and would love to set up an IP trade in Windsor, maybe London, or perhaps Waterloo or Mississauga (I have family in the latter two cities). FT: Funky Buddha Maple Bacon Coffee Porter (MBCP) and Last Snow. (Also have lots of Michigan goodies, i.e. Kuhnhenn 4D, BB4D, ...

Something tells me this one will be less than exciting, given the Petrus Blonde and Gouden Tripel were forgettably nondescript. Nice glass with them though, funny I'm using the Petrus goblet right now (mmm Sorachi Ace saison from Brooklyn...) Based on my experiences with those other nondescript Pet...

Is it just me, or do most of the Unibroue beers essentially taste the same? I definitely think they all have a common thread (owing, I'm guessing, to the same house yeast being used in most of their brews), but IMO it's that common flavour that makes their beers so great! Interestingly, I actually ...

damn it. you're going to force me to try to remember what Mr K said to us this summer. think the LCBO wanted more. he gave them what he could. think we'll see his beer again, esp when he increases capacity. Makes sense. If they could manage to send LCBO some 4D from their old brewery, before they e...

Would Kuhnhenn choose to deal with the LCBO...? If they wanted to ship the 4D up here again, I'd gladly buy as many bottles as I could. Huh, I didn't realize the LCBO had picked up some 4D last year. Certainly didn't make it down to my area :x Main point for the purposes of this thread, though, is ...

So how much is a single bottle of that stuff? And it isn't listen yet. Any idea when it should be coming? Did I miss something? Raspberry eisbock is non coming to the LCBO. It came out this weekend at Kuhnhenn, for $30 a bottle. You did not miss anything. Except maybe one BTer's usual sarcasm being...

Thanks, I may grab a six of the Spearhead. I certainly wasn't expecting Black Albert in the much lower alcohol range, and I like some of the flavor aspects you're describing in this 'Belgian Stout' whatever that style is. No problem. It wasn't my cup of tea, but I certainly wouldn't say it was poor...

Anybody tried the Spearhead Belgian Stout? I did, and while the nose was decent enough (I picked up chocolate, coffee, marshmallow, caramel, banana), it was too thin for my liking. Roasted coffee-like finish (semi-bitter, slightly acidic, chalky). Haven't had Black Albert, but based on how much I'v...
