Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). And I can't believe I still haven't had anything from Grand River. I really have to track some of their beer down when I'm in Toronto this November. They're bottling now, so I have a few on hand (they're about a mile from my parents house). Just let me know if you'd like anything. Thanks Derek, I m...

Just finished a Troegs Scratch 14. Now I'm working on a Green Flash Le Freak. And I can't believe I still haven't had anything from Grand River. I really have to track some of their beer down when I'm in Toronto this November.

I don't see why anyone is complaining (or appearing to complain) about prices here... This is a premier event and it costs the operator a lot to put on. I remember thinking that based purely on quality and novelty of the event in its first year, there was no way it could stay at $20 and be profitabl...

I make it a point to only accept my pint if it's a "biker pour". Right up to the lip of the glass so that it spills when I pick it up.

If anyone is seriously interested in trying Labatt Porter, it's still available in Quebec. Or, you could just drink some Pepsi, since it looks and tastes about the same... That's exactly what I thought when I tried it a couple of years ago! I still have a soft spot for Molson Stock Ale. I find that...

Tonight was all about Troegs Scratch #10, Harpoon Old Rusty's Red Rye Ale, followed by homebrewed pineapple kolsch. And a bit of Bauhaus on the side. ;-)

It's been a while, but I remember getting at least 10 kegs out of a 5# tank, maybe 15. But I also used it for purging air from the headspace when kegging homebrew and various other things. Definitely look for someplace nearby that does fire extinguisher fills. I was filling up in Windsor for about $...

I got brewopoly a couple of years ago for Christmas. It's neat, but it's just like monopoly (obviously). I like playing this one: http://www.yeastbank.com/brewmastergame/brewmaster.htm As a homebrewer, I love it, but even non-beer people like playing it! Not beer-related (though I usually have a fe...

I worked at Pfizer in Ann Arbor for a while, pretty much right across the road from Bello Vino. It's been a couple of years since I've stopped in since I'm no longer living in the area, but I remember it having an excellent selection and helpful staff. The fact that they would break up pretty much a...

David Copperfield's is a pretty good spot to hit if you're in the area. It's at York and 74th. One cask, a couple dozen taps, an interesting but not overwhelming bottle list, and decent food. I was there last Saturday and it was fairly dead in the late afternoon, but the crowd picked up a lot by aro...

Harold also mentioned that he's going to Florida soon. He'll be flying out of Detroit and is looking for a great place near the airport to pick up beer on his way back. If you have suggestions, please let him know when you're in for a pint. If anyone's talking to Harold, let him know that Merchants...

That bottle of Viggo's was really tasty. I didn't have the 2003 fresh, but it seemed to hold up very well over a couple of years.
