Re: Winnipeg?
I wandered around for a few hours one day, out past the exchange, back towards the MTS centre, then back down. But like I said, I was sick, and working, so my moving around was reasonably limited. I did eat out towards "confusion corner" one night and walked back from there through the leg...

Re: Edmonton?
Beer revolution vs Craft my 2 cents: Atmosphere: both have their warts. Beer revolution was a bit more cozy, dimmer (my god the lights are bright at Craft!). Both lots of TVs and both reasonably busy on the early weeknights I was there. Draw. Beer: I find this harder to judge as it would just depend...

Re: Winnipeg?
So back from a quick trip, couple of nights. City has it's charms, you can certainly tell it was a booming place in 1915 or whatever. From a beer perspective, not much of an exciting trip. I was sick while there, so didn't go far out of my way. I had dinner one night at a chain-y place with a buddy,...

Re: Edmonton?
Back from another trip to Edmonton, 3 nights. Better weather this time, so was able to get around a bit more. Craft: same idea as last time. Corporate spot, but with a pretty solid selection of beers. Nothing "I WANT THAT" but a lot of really good beer, and they all seemed to be in good sh...

Re: Winnipeg?
Thanks all! I'll be there basically two weeks from today, early March. I'll keep an eye out for PEG, but by the looks of it I may just miss opening?

Winnipeg?
Hey all, so heading to Winnipeg in a few weeks. I see lots of references to Winnipeg when I search, but not specific thread about Winnipeg for beer tourism. Recommendations anyone? I'll check out the usual suspects for references, BA, RB, but any first hand experience would be great!
Thanks!
Thanks!

So, looks like I'll be back in Edmonton for a few nights in early March. Any new suggestions to try?
Thanks!

Re: Ottawa and area help
For family friendly, pretty much everything in Ottawa is fine. If you can make the trek, Cheshire Cat is by far my favourite. Local at Landsdowne works as well.
Tooth and Nail is definitely worth a stop if you are in the BTP area. I've really liked everything I've had from them lately.

Re: Where to go in Ottawa?
These guys are opening in Ottawa soon. http://ottawa.craftbeermarket.ca/ I wasn't too impressed with the Vancouver location. The beer list is huge, but not well curated. My food was surprisingly good, but I have heard complaints from others. The building is very cool, but they turned in it into a w...

Re: Nova Scotia
The F-bomb is definitely part of that gang's schtick. I'm not into it, but whatever, to each their own. The taproom is apparently officially named "Charm School", which given their schtick is pretty funny.

Re: Nova Scotia
Managed to sneak in another short trip this week. Great timing as the new Tom's had just opened. Pretty neat spot. Not quite as cozy as the old place, but the look in feel is pretty similar. They have to do something about the low table area near the entrance. It's all under glass, and is very brigh...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO
According to Goose Island's website, the Vanilla Rye has 35 IBU and uses only Columbus, which is a concentrated hop. Doesn't sound like a lot of hop. Are they going for something really sweet? Doesn't sound like a flavour profile I would usually go for, but I will make an exception. You are correct...

I'm going to be in Niagara Falls, NY in a few weeks. I know this is a Buffalo thread, but anything decent for stores/bars on the shitty side of the Falls?

Was there Friday afternoon, was an absolutely blast. Felt like we had the run of the place, weather was great. Food was solid. Had a great beat, could dance to it.

Re: Spot to Watch Jays in Toronto Friday 24th
Ended up watching most of it at Amsterdam, and then switched to Loose Moose during rain delay. Both were fun, in different ways.
